Another railway view hotel ticked off the list… 🚆

Hampton by Hilton at London Luton Airport is next to Luton Airport Parkway station and 5 minutes from the airport via the

This room was 310🚪and staff were more than helpful when requesting a view on the railway side! Although I drive the route I’ve always looked at the hotel and thought I want to see it from that POV 😅 As well as having the fab view, it was a comfortable stay and would definitely book here again when flying from Luton ✈️

When at platform level most people don’t realise how high off the ground trains are. From ground level it can be a nice upper body workout getting in to some trains and units! 👀

A dedication post to 222104…🥹

The unit with the unique livery and the one that I had my first breakdown with (the train, not me) three days into being out on my own, has now left service with EMR and will be going to Scotrail.

have installed The Summer Rail Garden on the concourse at London Victoria station to explain how the heat and dry weather affects the railway. It can be frustrating when our journey’s are delayed due to heat ☀️, but it is nearly always because of safety reasons, normally regarding the rails or overhead lines. This display explains the processes, and what Network Rail are doing in the background, and raising awareness of this.

A detailed display and well worth a read if you’re in the area. It can be found by Platforms 1-8 and is there from today Sunday 24th to Saturday 30th May.
