Saving for our Next Family Adventure

I'm so gutted by the latest news on term-time holidays. As a parent who signed the petition for those 10 fine-free days, this feels like such an unlucky decision for families. 😔

The government has rejected our plea, and to top it off, fines for unauthorized absences have actually increased since August 2024! It's now £80 per parent, per child (if paid within 21 days), rising to £160.

It's a huge blow for those of us trying to manage family budgets and give our kids amazing experiences during off-peak times. What do you all think? Are we being unfairly penalized?

It's been a little quiet here as life with two kids and school has been super busy, but the adventure planning never stops!

I've been going through our family budget this week, making sure we stay on track to have an even bigger and better trip next year. It feels so good to know we're consistently putting money aside—it turns the stress of paying for a vacation into the fun of planning one!

Dreaming of a sunny escape? ☀️ My family and I were in Malta this July, and we absolutely loved it!

There's something so special about the crystal-clear waters, the incredible history, and the beautiful little towns.

We've never been back to the same island twice, but Malta is an exception. It's a place I truly want to return to with the kids to explore more of its hidden gems.
