📍Amberley Circular 🥾 via The Black Horse 🍻

We planned this one for a day out with friends and kept it a little shorter than our usual walks, making it a great option if you’ve got kids in tow too!

The walk takes you through Amberley and the surrounding countryside, and honestly, the whole day completely exceeded our expectations. It was all so beautiful and so English!

We’re already planning a return visit in spring to see the village covered in wisteria, but this time of year is so special too with the changing autumn colours and cosy pub 🔥🍂

And speaking of the pub, was fantastic. It’s owned by the same family as local (which you know is a fave of ours if you’ve been following for a while!) It’s got rooms too, so definitely worth considering if you fancy making a night of it!

P.S. If you’re visiting with kids (or just love trains!), is right next to the station, with a working narrow-gauge railway, historic buses and plenty more to explore. We didn’t get there this time, but it would be a great addition to the day! 🚂

Where to walk this weekend!

The temperatures are dropping, the layers are coming out and autumn is starting to do its thing! 🍁 So this weekend we think you should make the most of the changing seasons with a gorgeous countryside walk that’s entirely accessible on the Tube 💃🏻

📍Chesham to Chorleywood

🚂 the 0919 Met line train from Baker St will get you Chesham at 1016
🥾 ~ 2.5-3 hours to lunch
🍻 🍽️ 1300 lunch at
🥾 you can either walk another 1/1.5 hours back to Chorleywood after lunch or cut it short and do half an hour back
🚂 Trains back into London from Chorleywood station go every half an hour so choose your route and plan accordingly!

Where to walk this weekend!

The forecast for this weekend is ideal walking weather! Cold! Crisp! Sunny! How lucky are we. Make the most of it by getting yourself out to Charing for this beautiful walk where you’ve got a lovely pub and a fabulous w**ery (pls pls try the Petulant Nature Chardonnay, it is soooooo good!)

📍Charing Circular

🚂 1004 St Pancras → Ashford International, then the 1056 from Ashford International → Charing arriving at 1104
🥾 ~ 1.5 hours to lunch
🍻 🍽️ 1230 lunch at
🥾 ~ 45 mins to English sparkling heaven

🚂 Charing station is around 20 mins walk from Westwell, trains are back via Ashford and leave at 23 mins past the hour (on Saturday) so choose which suits!

📍Rye to Headcorn via Chapel Down 🥂

It’s no secret we’ve been huge fans of English Sparkling for a loooong time, and as one of the biggest producers, has been on our list for YEARS.

The only thing that was stopping us was that walking there from one station to another is pretty long, even for us, but we have been desperate to go so we found a workaround.

Starting in Rye, you’ve got 16km of walking through gorgeous Kent countryside before arriving at Chapel Down. We visited for their recent Magnum Festival (absolutely worth getting a ticket if they run it again next year), but you definitely don’t need an event as an excuse to visit.

In terms of food, there is a restaurant there, or you can bring a picnic, taste some of their w**es and have a wander through the vineyards. It’s a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Technically, you can walk another 16km-ish to Headcorn (do let us know if you’d like a route for that) but there is absolutely no judgment from us for jumping in a cab instead 😂 It’s only around 15 minutes to Headcorn, where you can get a direct train back to London Bridge.

Where to walk this weekend!

With the sunshine looking like it’s sticking around, we’re sending you to Kent for a full day of walking, w**e and pubs ☀️🥂🍻 This one is nearly 18km and has multiple stops, so it’s an early start, but we promise it’s worth it!

📍Sturry Circular

🚂 0807 St Pancras → Ashford International, then the 0857 from Ashford International → Sturry arriving at 0924
🥾 ~ 2 hours to your first stop for some local w**e and c***r
🍺 🥂 arrive at at around 1130, hang around for an hour or so
🥾 ~ 30 mins to lunch
🍻 🍽️ 1300 lunch at
🥾 ~ 1.5 hours to Fordwich for a drink at .and.dragon (can also stop along the way at )
🚂 Sturry station is around 20 mins walk from the George and Dragon and trains go every hour, so check your train times back while you enjoy their fabulous garden and the beautiful River Stour!

It’s World Car Free Day, and what better excuse to celebrate trains!🚂

How lucky are we to be able to leave London in the morning, get whisked away to beautiful countryside, visit a local pub and be home again that evening, all without getting behind the wheel.

Where to walk this weekend!

It’s ideal walking weather at the moment, and we still have the daylight to pack in a few stops along the way, so we’re sending you to taste some w**e, try some gin, wander through the village that starred in The Holiday and finish at a fabulous pub!
📍Guildford ➡️ Gomshall 🥾

🚂 0807 Waterloo / 0815 Clapham Junction → Guildford arriving at 0925
🥾 ~ 2.5 hours to pool (you’ll get there around midday, how long you stay is entirely up to you!)
🥾 ~ 30 mins to Shere Village for a wander. There are plenty of pubs here too if you fancy stopping for a drink or some food
🥾~ 30 mins from Shere to get to lunch
🚂 Gomshall station is less than 15 mins walk from the pub so check your train times back while you’re chilling

Where to walk this weekend 🥾

Low 20s, sunny and breezy is, in our opinion, quite perfect walking weather, so we’re sending you to East Sussex to visit a beautiful artists’ home and garden, and a gorgeous pub:

🚂 0854 Victoria / 0901 Clapham Junction → Lewes
🚂 1014 Lewes → Glynde
🥾 ~ 1 hour walk to Charleston House
🏠 1130
🥾 ~ 1 hour walk to lunch
🍻🍽️ 1330 The Cricketer’s Arms, Berwick
🚂 ~45 min walk to Berwick. Train back to London, changing at Polegate (don’t forget to look out for the Long Man of Wilmington from the train on the way back!)
