Next time you’re looking for a lovely day trip out of London, may we suggest Marlow! ❤️🥂🥾🍻

Less than an hour from Paddington, this beautiful riverside town has a brilliant food scene, with Tom Kerridge right at the heart of it. We spent the day working our way around all three of his pubs…

is great for a relaxed pint and something deeeeelicious from the grill. We had a 10/10 aperol and some snacks here before our proper lunch.

is where we had lunch and is a two star Michelin pub. So many people we know have this on their list as a special treat and can we say, it’s worth it! Incredible 😋

also Michelin-starred but a slightly more relaxed (but really vibey) setting. An excellent place to finish our day of pubs!

And if you fancy earning your lunch first, we’ve got two beautiful walks that finish in Marlow, plus plenty of shorter routes you can do around town.

Comment WALK and we can send you our routes! 🥾

📍 Cooksbridge to Marlow 🥾 via The Queen’s Head 🍻

A beautiful walk in a beautiful park of the UK! This one goes on and off the Thames Path, so you’re always fairly near some water, which is much needed in this current heat! There’s the chance for an official swim along the way at Westhorpe (check the details though for your swim options), or some unofficial dips in the Thames along the way. Lunch is at a gorgeous pub with one of the most beautiful beer gardens we’ve seen! All in all, just a beautiful day, save this for your next outing!

Details below and the link in our bio will take you to the route 🔍🗺️

📏 Distance - 10km
⏱️ Duration – around 2.5 hours of walking
💪 Difficulty – easy
🍻🍽️ Lunch spot - The Queen’s Head is a really gorgeous spot, just before the swim! If you can hold out to the end though, there are some amazing spots in Marlow too (watch this space for our recommendations soon!)
🏊🏻‍♀️ Swim spot - is just after lunch and has a cute little dipping pool (though heads up they do make you wear a life jacket…) Looks like you can also swim in the main lake there so that’s definitely worth checking out! There were a few really tempting little spots in the Thames on the way into Marlow too where we saw others dipping.
🚂 Getting there – Cookham and Marlow are on the same train line from Maidenhead. To get to / from Maidenhead you can either take the Elizabeth line or jump on a train from Paddington (which is a bit quicker)
🐕 Doggos - welcome and in heaven with all the spots they can swim in along the Thames Path!

📍Cooksbridge to Plumpton 🥾 via The Jolly Sportsman 🍻

We had some family friends visiting from Australia and wanted to show them what we love so much about our walks. This one was just such a beautifully perfect example of English countryside, and the pub was amazing - huge garden, great food and lovely staff.

It’s really close to a winery we’ve visited on a separate walk and while we didn’t go there this time, it would be totally doable to add it on at the end. We’ve mapped the route out to include it but if you don’t fancy it, just jump on the train home from Plumpton!

Save this one for the next time you want an easy escape to the country 🥰

Details below and the route is in our which is linked in our bio! 🔍🗺️

📏 Distance - 5km from Cooksbridge to Plumpton (then if you’re adding the winery, it’s just under 5km return from Plumpton)
⏱️ Duration - around 1.5 hours of walking from Cooksbridge to Plumpton, around another hour return if you go to Artelium
💪 Difficulty - very easy
🍻🍽️ Lunch spot - was just fabulous, and only 20 mins or so to the station once you’re done!
🥂 Optional winery - we’ve been to before and can confirm it’s fantastic! Worth it if you feel like a little jaunt after lunch
🚂 Getting there - will get you from Victoria or Clapham Junction to Cooksbridge and then back from Plumpton
🐕 Doggos - would be a great one for the doggos! A few sheep along the way though, so they’ll need to be on a lead at times :)

📍Charing Circular 🥾 via Westwell Winery 🥂

A fabulous day out to a fabulous winery! You can either do a 20 min walk there or if, like us, you want to stretch the legs a bit more before your wine tasting, you can do around 2 hours / 9kms before settling in! Either way, the countryside is gorgeous and the winery is awesome so you can’t go wrong 🥰

Details below and route is in which is linked in our bio (or message us and we can send it through)! 🔍🗺️

📏 Distance - 11km
⏱️ Duration - 2.5 hours of walking
💪 Difficulty - very easy!
🍻🍽️ Lunch spot - we spent our whole time at , doing a wine tasting and also having their delicious toasties which we’d really recommend! There was another pub along the way that looked really lovely, but it was closed so we didn’t stop in. Let us know if you do - it’s called the
🚂 Getting there - from St Pancras to Charing via Ashford. It took just over an hour and the change was super easy. Cost around £35 return :)
🐕 Doggos - a great one for the doggos, they’re welcome everywhere

We heard there’s a heatwave coming 🔥so we thought we’d share some of our favourite country pub walks with potential for a swim along the way. Some are beaches, some are rivers, some free and some you have to book / pay for in advance. All are guaranteed to cool you off and add a fun element to your walk!

All the walk routes are saved in our link in our bio - or comment / message us if you’d like any links or any more details!

Please swim safely and check the conditions before taking a dip but otherwise ENJOY!! ☀️🏊🏻‍♀️🍻🌳
