Last week, the SLC Representation Australia team joined JNTO for the Japan Roadshows in Melbourne and Brisbane, representing Ehime, Oita and Fukuoka Prefectures.

Seeing Ehime named Japan’s fastest-growing emerging destination for Australian travellers, with visitation up an incredible 76.7% over the past 12 months, was a particular highlight.

After two years of working with Ehime to put this incredible region on the radar through agent and media engagement, FAMs and new itineraries, it’s fantastic to see growing interest translating into visits.

A big thank you to JNTO and everyone who joined us across Melbourne and Brisbane.

In July, we were proud to support our clients, Fukuoka Prefecture Tourism Association and Oita Prefecture, at the Kyushu Tourism Organisation's Australian trade events.

Representing the destinations, our team connected with Australian travel advisors, wholesalers and industry partners, showcasing the incredible experiences that await across Kyushu. With 122 business meetings taking place, the events highlighted the growing demand for regional Japan and concluded with an immersive networking evening celebrating Kyushu's culture, cuisine and hospitality.

Thank you to the Kyushu Tourism Organisation, Linkd Tourism and all partners for delivering two fantastic events. We look forward to inspiring even more Australian travellers to discover Fukuoka, Oita and the wider Kyushu region.

Last week, we were delighted to host 15 Trailfinders agents on behalf of our client, G'Day Group, for an afternoon of inspiration, networking and the latest updates from one of Australia's leading holiday park operators.

As well as hearing about G'Day Group's growing portfolio of unique stays and unforgettable Australian experiences, agents enjoyed a hands-on seasonal bouquet workshop with Jar and Fern, creating their own hand-tied arrangements to take home.

It was a fantastic afternoon showcasing everything G'Day Group has to offer while strengthening relationships with our valued trade partners.

This month, Jess and Tabitha were delighted to attend Gold Medal's Big Day Out on behalf of our client, Visit Dubai.

To get agents talking all things Dubai, we put their destination knowledge to the test with a giant Dubai map jigsaw challenge, racing against the clock to piece the city together while discussing its diverse neighbourhoods and experiences.

The event concluded with a fantastic gala dinner celebrating Gold Medal's top-performing agents - the perfect ending to a brilliantly organised few days of networking, learning and recognition.

A huge thank you to the Gold Medal team for having us!

May was a proud month for the SLC Representation team, supporting our client Tourism Western Australia at the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show!

The 'Journey Beyond the Tracks: from Adelaide to Perth' garden, designed by Max Parker-Smith, beautifully brought to life the iconic transcontinental journey aboard the Indian Pacific, celebrating the extraordinary landscapes that connect Adelaide and Perth.

Created through a collaboration between Tourism Western Australia, the South Australian Tourism Commission and Journey Beyond, the garden not only earned a prestigious Silver-Gilt Medal but also captured the attention of audiences across the UK and Australia.

The results speak for themselves:
🌱 Nearly 800 pieces of media coverage
🌱 Reach of more than 1.65 billion
🌱 Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE) of $2.43 million

Featured across national titles including The Times, The Telegraph, The Observer, BBC TV and BBC regional radio, alongside leading lifestyle and gardening publications, the garden inspired travellers to discover one of Australia's most unforgettable rail journeys.

We're delighted to have supported Tourism Western Australia in delivering such an impactful campaign and helping showcase the very best of Western Australia to UK audiences.

As we near the end of June, we're reflecting on a successful series of TravelTalks Showcases delivered across the UK so far this year...

Created to offer something different for suppliers, buyers and agents, TravelTalks is SLC's boutique roadshow series, bringing together destination-focused networking, training and business development opportunities. Featuring a mix of recognised brands and unique travel experiences, each event is designed to foster meaningful industry connections while equipping agents with valuable destination knowledge and product updates.

Since February, we've hosted three showcases covering Australasia, USA, Canada & the Caribbean, and the Indian Ocean. Together, they have connected almost 30 suppliers with more than 225 travel agents across seven events in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Chester and Harrogate.

As TravelTalks continues to evolve, our focus remains on creating high-quality events that deliver genuine value through relevant training, productive conversations and new opportunities for both suppliers and the travel trade.

SLC’s Clara has just returned from hosting an incredible FAM trip through Virginia with our client Virginia Tourism Corporation, showcasing the destination’s rich diversity to key UK and Irish travel trade partners, including North America Travel Service, Club Travel, Travelpack and Major Travel.

From the charm of small-town America to breath-taking natural landscapes, this itinerary highlighted the very best of Virginia. The group experienced authentic Americana in Roanoke, explored the vibrant arts and culture scene in Staunton, discovered the East Coast’s largest cavern system, sampled award-winning wineries, and visited the boutique towns and countryside of Loudoun County.

Throughout the group enjoyed stays in a collection of characterful boutique properties that reflected the unique personality of each destination, including the newly opened Hotel Burg in Leesburg.

Virginia truly offers something for every traveller, and we can’t wait to see our travel trade partners bring these experiences to life for their clients.

On behalf of our client Tourism Western Australia, SLC’s Mala Mistry was proud to compere an exclusive Western Australia Day dinner, hosted by the Agent General of Western Australia, Rebecca Tomkinson.

The evening was inspired by Pair'd Festival Margaret River Region, which celebrates the world-class produce and premium wines of Western Australia. Set in the Michelin-starred Trivet Restaurant last week, the menu was specially prepared by Trivet co-owners Chef Jonny Lake and sommelier Isa Bal, whose inspiration stemmed from their participation in Pair’d Margaret River Region 2024.

The event provided a valuable platform to connect UK and Australian business communities alongside travel media, trade and industry representatives, while building anticipation for Pair’d Margaret River Region taking place in November this year.

Elodie from SLC’s French team has just returned from hosting eight agents on an unforgettable Western Australia fam trip.

Following an Aussie Specialist Program sales challenge pushing the direct Paris-Perth Qantas route, the winning agents enjoyed five nights travelling around the state, experiencing activities like sea kayaking and swimming with whale sharks in Exmouth, a fascinating Perth city walking tour, segwaying around Rottnest Island to meet the friendly quokkas, all intertwined with delicious food and wine experiences and hotel stays carefully selected for the market. Alongside the adventure, the group experienced outstanding food and wine and stayed in carefully selected properties tailored to the French market.

The agents returned home inspired and equipped with first-hand knowledge to help bring the WA dream to their clients across France.
