Last weekend, we sent some of our rolling stock down to the Swanage Diesel Gala, including 73141, the LU 4-TC set and the star of the show — one of our new Class 99 locomotives, 99004.

It was a first chance for many people to see one of our Class 99s in action, including hauling passenger coaches ahead of the fleet entering commercial service this summer.

As well as showcasing the locomotives, GBRf volunteers also helped raise an incredible £13,000 for GOSH.

Our Class 99s have reached two important milestones.

✅ has granted us an Interim Statement of Compatibility, allowing the fleet to operate across Britain’s rail network.

✅ The first six Class 99s have been accepted into our fleet, enabling driver training to scale up ahead of entry into service later this summer.

We’re delighted to confirm that we’ll be sending one of our brand new Class 99s, 99004, to the Swanage Diesel Gala this week.

At Swanage, we'll also be auctioning a couple of nameplates to help raise money for our charity partner, . Details can be found on the image above.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the GBRf Stand there!

GB Railfreight has secured a two‑year contract with Imerys to transport china clay from rail sites in Cornwall to Fowey Docks and Cliffe Vale.

China clay (kaolin) is a critical raw material used across a wide range of industries, including paper, cosmetics, paint and pharmaceuticals, and remains an important part of Cornwall’s industrial landscape.

A stunning sunrise scene sent to us by Dwayne Alexander 🌅

Just after sunrise on Easter Monday, the Britannic Explorer railtour passes below the Westbury White Horse as seen from Fairwood, working from the West Somerset Railway to London Victoria.🚂

While the rich reds and oranges of the morning sky don't fully show in the photo, Dwayne assures us it was a spectacular sight to witness in person. A beautiful moment captured on his Nikon D5000 with a Tamron 16-300mm lens.📸

We’re proud to have successfully supported another major blockade — this time at Willesden South Junction.

Over the Easter weekend:

🚆 19 infrastructure trains delivered
⏱️ Operations ran from Thursday evening to Tuesday evening
🚆 23 locomotives working in close coordination
