🌙 About the Month of Safar

Position in Islamic Calendar: 2nd month

Meaning: “Safar” means "empty" or "void", referring to the pre-Islamic Arab tradition of leaving their homes for war during this month.

Historical Context: In pre-Islamic times, Arabs associated this month with misfortune. However, Islam rejects any notion of bad luck or superstition.

Virtue of Friday (Jumu’ah):
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it, and the Last Hour will take place on no day other than Friday."
— [Sahih Muslim, 854]
