Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) is the professional body for all members of the commercial shipping industry worldwide. www.ics.org.uk/

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) is open to anyone who wishes to start or already has a career in shipping or the maritime industry. You can begin your journey to becoming a member by studying interesting shipping and maritime subjects and sitting our professional exams when you are ready. The Institute is the professional body for all members of the commercial shipping industry worldwide. Founded in 1911, the Institute was awarded a Royal Charter in 1920. We set and examine the syllabus for membership, providing the shipping industry with highly qualified professionals, and we are the only internationally recognised professional body in the commercial maritime arena representing shipbrokers, ship managers and agents throughout the world. We have 26 branches in key locations worldwide with 4,000 individual Members and Fellows. What an evening...! Last night we celebrated the best and brightest Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Maritime students from the ICS 2025/26 academic year. From South Africa and Mumbai to Chile and The Netherlands (and many more!), this year’s winners showcased a wealth of talent and commitment from across every corner of our global maritime community.

It was a joyful evening and a pleasure to bring together so many of our network of Fellows and Members, alongside key industry figures such as the IMO, MSC, The Baltic Exchange and Clarksons to name but a few.
