🌍 This World Environment Day, we’re spotlighting the power of peatlands.

These unique landscapes are among the UK’s most important natural systems. They store carbon, support biodiversity and help regulate water, yet at least 80% are degraded and in need of restoration🌿

At St. Pancras International, The Composer’s Cabin brings this story to life through an immersive installation designed by Martha Krempel and created with Malvern Garden Buildings and the South West Peatland Partnership.

We’re proud to have supported peatland restoration projects that protect and revive these vital environments. The Composer’s Cabin invites visitors to pause, reflect and connect with the landscapes shaping our planet’s future.

🎤 Hear from our Sustainability and Environmental Manager, Sam Sage, as he shares why peatlands matter and how this links to our wider sustainability goals.

The Composer’s Cabin has officially arrived on the St. Pancras International concourse 🌿🎹

Fresh from its Silver Medal win at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the cabin has been reimagined for one of London’s busiest public spaces, inviting visitors to pause, sit inside and experience its quiet beauty.

Inspired by the bogs, heathland and lush valleys of the UK’s peatlands, the space brings the atmosphere of these remarkable landscapes into the heart of the station. Put on the headphones to hear the sounds of the bog, explore the natural textures and enjoy the calm, immersive setting ✨

And that’s a wrap on an incredible week at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 🌿🎹

Thank you to everyone who stepped inside The Composer’s Cabin, designed by Martha Krempel and inspired by the UK’s wild peat moors. With its living green roof, subtropical planting, Steinway & Sons Model B Spirio grand piano and immersive soundscape, the space invited visitors to slow down, listen and reflect.

We’re thrilled it received a Silver Medal and was celebrated as one of this year’s standout contemplative gardens.

If you missed it at Chelsea, the journey continues. From 1 June, an adapted version of the cabin will transform the concourse at St. Pancras International 💚✨

Being deaf in a world made for hearing people can feel like being in an invisible box 🦻

For Deaf Awareness Week, we partnered with RNID to bring communication barriers to life through a transparent box in the middle of St. Pancras International, showing how quickly everyday interactions can become challenging when methods aren’t accessible.

TV personality and disability activist Tasha Ghouri shared, “I want people to take away the everyday struggles that deaf people go through in a hearing world.”

Through RNID’s ‘It does matter’ campaign, visitors learned simple communication tips and basic British Sign Language (BSL) phrases, showing how small changes can help create more confident, connected conversations 💙
