☀️ European and gathered in on 10–11 June for the annual seminar, hosted by the Nordic countries.

⚓ Key topics included security and the growing threat of organized crime, with sharing its experience of mandatory background checks for port workers. Attention also turned to , where maritime professionals continue operating under the daily realities of war, reminding of the importance of . Market and geopolitical developments were also in focus, with discussions on , the continued role of oil in global , and the potential implications of disruptions in the Strait of .

📚 Regulatory updates covered , , EU and the European Maritime Single Window ( /Nemo), while the future of the shipbroker profession was explored in a dedicated panel session. The seminar concluded with Swedish traditions and a heartfelt farewell to Berit Blomqvist after an outstanding 50-year career in the maritime industry. The event was graciously hosted by Sveriges Skeppsmäklare and organised by its Secretary General, Berit Blomqvist, with the support of our partners: the Danish Shipbrokers and Port Operators ( ), the Shipbrokers Finland ( ), and also the Norsk Skipsmeglerforbund. The seminar attracted a record number of attendees!

⚓ extends its sincere congratulations to AMCF (Agents Maritimes et Consignataires de France) on its General Assembly, which took place in , , and during which the new Board was elected. After two two-year terms as President, Johann Feltgen is handing over the reins to Olivier Cebe. The other elected Board members are Antoine Poulain, Johann Feltgen, Henri Chotard, and Jérôme Christiaen.

🎙️ FONASBA President Fulvio Carlini attended the event, highlighting the longstanding cooperation and friendship between the two organisations. France has always played a prominent role within FONASBA, and the contribution of French and to our global Federation continues to be highly valued, thanks to the invaluable support of Association Director Jean-Pascal BIDOIRE.

🌐 was pleased to contribute to discussions at the IMO Maritime Safety Committee (MSC), aimed at strengthening across the maritime sector.

FONASBA’s General Manager, Eleonora Modde, delivered a statement in support of a submission brought forward by the delegations of Argentina and Bahamas, the Nautical Institute, and other co-sponsors, concerning recommendations for the safe use of pesticides on ships, specifically for the fumigation of cargo holds.

Don’t miss the ECASBA Seminar 2026, taking place on 11 June in Gothenburg, , hosted by the Swedish Shipbrokers’ Association!

With the help of our colleagues and speakers, we will assess critical topics such as risks, , port , , and the future of the European Ports Strategy.

🎙️ The programme will open with a moderator session on “Gateways of resilience: Agents and Brokers at the frontline of maritime security”, setting the scene on resilience, security, and connectivity in European ports, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. A special testimony will be delivered by Kseniia Pidruchna (Association of Maritime Agencies of Ukraine).

In this session, we will be joined, among others, by Geert Vandervelden (Federal Belgium Police), Isabelle Ryckbost (ESPO (European Sea Ports Organisation), Damian Viccars (World Shipping Council), and Raymond Troch (ECASBA Chair).
