🟩⬜🟥 was proudly represented by President Fulvio Carlini at the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) Summit 2026 in , where global maritime leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders gathered to discuss the future of in an increasingly complex geopolitical and regulatory environment.

The Summit highlighted the importance of resilient , practical cooperation, security, and balanced pathways towards . Discussions reinforced that resilience requires a combination of market-based solutions, investment, effective risk management, and strong international collaboration across the maritime ecosystem.

🎙️ In his closing remarks, newly appointed ICS Chairman John Denholm emphasized the role of ICS in bringing together governments, regulators, and industry to promote practical cooperation and constructive dialogue. He stressed that recent disruptions to global trade routes and growing geopolitical instability demonstrate the need for coordinated action to safeguard supply chains, protect , and maintain global economic resilience.

Today, we celebrate the men and women who keep the world connected. are the invisible force behind global , ensuring that , , , and other essential goods reach every corner of the world.

🚢 This year's theme, "Carrying world trade. Carrying the risks", reminds us that while seafarers keep global commerce moving, they also shoulder significant responsibilities and make sacrifices that often go unseen. On this Day of the Seafarer, we honor their professionalism, resilience, courage, and commitment. We also reaffirm the importance of protecting their , , and wherever they sail.

🌊 was pleased to participate in a series of high-level meetings in , culminating in a constructive discussion with H.E. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of Kenya.

Together with representatives from the KENYA SHIPS AGENTS ASSOCIATION (KSAA) and the World Shipping Council, we explored the future of Kenya’s sector, the importance of regulatory frameworks that support growth and competitiveness, and the critical role of collaboration between government and industry. The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to maintaining open dialogue and working towards practical solutions that strengthen Kenya’s position in global trade while supporting a and competitive maritime sector.

🎙️ As FONASBA General Manager Eleonora Modde noted: "Our industry thrives when governments and businesses work together. We are encouraged by the positive and constructive discussions held in Nairobi and by the commitment shown by all parties to continue this dialogue".

⚓ Key topics included security and the growing threat of organized crime, with sharing its experience of mandatory background checks for port workers. Attention also turned to , where maritime professionals continue operating under the daily realities of war, reminding of the importance of . Market and geopolitical developments were also in focus, with discussions on , the continued role of oil in global , and the potential implications of disruptions in the Strait of .

📚 Regulatory updates covered , , EU and the European Maritime Single Window ( /Nemo), while the future of the shipbroker profession was explored in a dedicated panel session. The event was graciously hosted by Sveriges Skeppsmäklare and organised by its Secretary General, Berit Blomqvist, with the support of our partners: the Danish Shipbrokers and Port Operators ( ), the Shipbrokers Finland ( ), and also the Norsk Skipsmeglerforbund.
