Our Community Fund Applications Are Open!

Do you know a local charity or not-for-profit organisation making a positive difference in east London? Applications are now open for the next round of the London City Airport Community Fund.

💷 Grants available from £300 to £3,000
📅 Application deadline: 26 June 2026

Each year, the Community Fund awards £75,000 to organisations helping to create diverse, inclusive and thriving communities across east London. Since 2019, nearly £600,000 has been awarded to more than 190 organisations.

✈️ Travel Reminder: Vapes, Lithium Batteries & Liquids

Always keep vapes and lithium batteries including power banks with you in your cabin baggage.

Never pack them in checked luggage, they can overheat and pose a serious fire risk in the aircraft hold. Always check with your airline for specific rules before you fly.

London Underground strikes are scheduled for this week. While other TfL services including Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground, Trams and most bus routes will be running normally, services may be busier than usual, so please do plan ahead if you are travelling to London City Airport.

A touch of the French Riviera arrived at London City Airport this week as we celebrated the launch of our new British Airways route to Toulon.

Passengers travelling through the airport enjoyed a Riviera-inspired beach club experience at the gate, complete with deckchairs, parasols, chilled drinks and a live saxophonist as we welcomed the newest addition to our growing leisure network.

The new route strengthens London City Airport’s connections to the south of France, bringing Toulon, St Tropez and the wider Provence region within easy reach from the heart of London.

We are reflecting on a hugely successful AirportsUK Health and Safety Week 2026 here at London City Airport, where teamwork was at the heart of our showcase of events.

Our airport’s Health and Safety team worked with partners to deliver a huge variety of activities, demonstrating the value of everything we do to prioritise the safety of our colleagues and customers, every day.

Opportunities for staff were designed around three themes of occupational health, mental health and wellbeing and climate change and safety.

There were live demonstrations from the emergency services, including First Aid training from London’s Air Ambulance charity and an impressive display of skill by Police Dog Cerberus and his handler from the Metropolitan Police Service. Colleagues could also access mental health information and guidance and sign up for physical health checks and wellbeing sessions. These were open to airside and landside staff, as well as colleagues from our supply partners.

Last year, 3.7 million passengers travelled through London City Airport, and as in all safety-critical environments, our responsibility to colleagues and customers remains central to everything we do.

Thank you to all who champion safety 365 days a year and continue to make LCY the airports everyone loves.
