It’s Community Friday at LCY!
Last weekend, landside and airside teams, including partners from WHSmith and GSF played a football tournament to raise funds for the crucial work of CEO Natasha Hart MBE’s National All Stars Skills Academy (NASSA) in Newham.
As a football fan and former player, Shirley Ortiz from LCY’s Building Services team organised the event and is passionate about bringing people together.
Shirley said: “The tournament was a fantastic opportunity to bring colleagues together from across the airport, many of whom don't usually get the chance to work or socialise with one another. It creates a real sense of community while promoting teamwork, wellbeing and some healthy competition. Knowing that we've also been able to raise £500 for NASSA makes the day even more rewarding and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who took part and supported the event. I hope to see the tournament continue to grow each year and bring even more colleagues together for such a great cause.”
It is a privilege for all of us at LCY to support our local community and we are very proud of those who took time out of their busy weekends to hit the pitch and raise vital funds!
