We're incredibly proud of our Project Manager, Thelma Ayisi, who was named a finalist for the International Inspiration Award at the AllBright everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards. 👏

Since joining Transaid in 2021, Thelma has played a leading role in improving HGV driver training standards in Ghana, helping to develop and launch the country's first-ever collaborative driver training standard in 2024.

Through the Driving Safety Across Ghana programme, Thelma and the team have reached more than 5,000 drivers across 10 regions, while also training master trainers and instructors to build long-term local capacity and strengthen road safety across the country.

As a trailblazer in a traditionally male-dominated sector, Thelma continues to champion safer roads and inspire the next generation of women in transport and logistics across Africa.

While she didn't take home the award this time, being recognised as a finalist among such an inspiring group of women is a remarkable achievement. Congratulations, Thelma – we're so proud of everything you've accomplished and the impact you continue to make.

We'd also like to congratulate Maria Torrent March from our corporate partner, Iron Mountain, on being named a finalist in the Warehousing Award (Leader) category.

Health and road safety go hand in hand. 🚛

Thanks to the support of Lloyd's Register Foundation and Gibbs & Morel Trusts, and in partnership with North Star Alliance, we're helping truck drivers travelling along Kenya's Northern Corridor access vital health services and road safety information.

From April 2025 - March 2026:

👁️ 5,310 eye assessments were conducted
👓 1,280 drivers were provided with corrective lenses
🩺 1,903 health screenings were completed
🧪 1,872 HIV tests were conducted
💊 194 drivers accessed PrEP services

A huge thank you to Nimble Media and everyone who took part in The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge 2026! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, more than £1,300 was raised to support Transaid's work improving road safety and access to healthcare across sub-Saharan Africa.

We were delighted to host the 'Bridging the Gap' challenge, testing communication and collaboration skills as teams built bridges from craft supplies and competed to see whose design could hold the most weight.

Congratulations to Freight Expectations from GEODIS, winners of the Bridging the Gap Challenge Award, and to Flying Logs from RAF Training Academy, who took home the Team of the Year Award.

The event's commitment to building a more diverse, inclusive and accessible logistics sector aligns closely with Transaid's belief that everyone deserves access to opportunity, safety and essential services.

We are delighted to share that Brigade Electronics' third annual charity golf day in support of Transaid has raised an outstanding £17,650. 🙌

Held at The Shire London, the event brought together 20 teams from 18 organisations across the transport and logistics sector for a day of networking, fundraising and friendly competition, all in support of Transaid's road safety and access to healthcare programmes across sub-Saharan Africa.

As Peter Squire, Managing Director of Brigade Electronics (UK) Ltd, said:

"It was fantastic to see such a strong line-up of teams for this year’s golf day, with everyone turning out to support a cause that is so important to us. Events like this raise vital funds for an incredible charity, plus they also strengthen the sense of community across our industry."

We really cannot thank Brigade Electronics enough for its incredible generosity in organising this annual event, which since 2024 has now astonishingly raised more than £47,000. We would also like to thank all the companies and individuals who took part and contributed to another incredible fundraising total.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved in Transaid Month 2026! 🎉

This year's theme, "Small actions, big impact", celebrated how even the simplest actions can help transform lives. Whether you shared our content, purchased merchandise, organised a fundraiser, or took on a personal challenge, every action contributed to something much bigger.

Together, 42 corporate supporters helped raise awareness of Transaid’s work through promotion, merchandise purchases and fundraising activities, raising an incredible £3,430 throughout May. 🙌

A special shout-out goes to DP World, whose teams at London Gateway and Southampton collectively completed 3,600 miles of walking, running and cycling during the month. Their fantastic efforts raised enough to fund four bicycle ambulances, helping communities in rural sub-Saharan Africa access life-saving healthcare when it is needed most. 🚲💙

Every mile covered, post shared, item purchased and pound raised helps support safer transport and better access to healthcare across sub-Saharan Africa. Your support makes a real difference.

Thank you to everyone for making this year's campaign such a success. We can't wait to see what we can achieve together for Transaid Month 2027!
