Check out these decommissioned flood gates that lead down to the Jubilee & Bakerloo lines that no one seems to know anything about lol.

Upon some research they were installed c.1939 to protect the station from flooding from the River Tyburn which was diverted to run over the end of the Circle/Hammersmith & City line platforms in case it was hit by N**i bombings.

I recently moved stations with my job and now work at Baker Street, the oldest station on the network of the oldest underground railway in the world, so as you can imagine it is steeped in history!
I am so excited to explore all corners and depths of the station and discover its history.

And of course take many photos including this first lot featuring hidden areas, abandoned machinery, tunnels and lift shafts! I wonder what else there is to discover......
