🚗 Knights MiniCabs Airport Transfers: Stress‑Free Travel From Takeoff To Home

✈️ Who We Are & Where We Go

Knights MiniCabs is your trusted local transfer specialist, based in Greenwich and serving all major UK airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City Airport, plus Southampton and Dover cruise terminals.
We’ve been delivering a reliable, door‑to‑door service for over a decade, built on simple family values: transparency, punctuality, and putting your comfort first.

💡 What Makes Us Different

Unlike generic ride‑hailing apps or last‑minute taxi ranks, we offer airport transfers done right:

- ✅ Fixed, all‑inclusive pricing: No hidden fees, no surge charges, no surprise add‑ons — the price you see is the price you pay.
- ✅ Complimentary waiting time: 60 minutes for arrivals, 15 minutes for departures — so you never rush through luggage claim or security.
- ✅ 24/7 service: We’re here for early morning flights, late‑night arrivals, and last‑minute bookings, 365 days a year.
- ✅ Professional, vetted drivers: Every driver holds full TfL PCO licensing, undergoes strict background checks, and knows the fastest routes through London’s busiest roads.
- ✅ Vehicles for every need: From sleek electric saloons for solo/business travellers to spacious 7‑seater & 9-seater MPVs for families, groups, or extra luggage.
- ✅ Real‑time flight tracking: We monitor your flight status automatically — if you’re delayed, we adjust your pickup time at no extra cost.

🧠 Expert Tips From Our Experience

1. Book in advance — but don’t stress about delays

Many travellers wait until the last minute, only to face long queues or inflated prices.
We recommend booking 24–48 hours ahead, and because we track your flight, you won’t pay extra if your arrival time shifts.

2. Skip the “cheapest option” trap

Unlicensed drivers or unregulated services may seem cheaper, but they lack insurance, fixed pricing, or proper safety checks.
We’re fully licensed and insured for your peace of mind — and our rates stay competitive.

3. Tell us your needs upfront

Whether you’re travelling with children, bulky sports equipment, pets,, we can match you to the perfect vehicle before you arrive.

📂 Real Stories: How We’ve Helped Our Customers

Feedback 1: The Late‑Night Business Trip
A family flying in from Europe hit a 2‑hour delay, landing past midnight.
They’d booked with us, so we already knew the flight was delayed and our driver waited with his name board, got them straight home and the children to bed, and charged exactly the original price. “I didn’t have to call or chase anyone — it just worked, The complimentary car seats helped the children sleep comfortably on the way home” he said.

Feedback 2: The Family Holiday
A family of four travelling to Heathrow with two large suitcases, pushchairs, and ski gear. We assigned a spacious MPV for the fixed price we’d quoted online, helped load everything, and dropped them right at the terminal entrance. “No squeezing in, no extra charges — exactly what we needed, The driver even helped us into the Terminal with our luggage” they told us.

📌 Final Thought

Your trip shouldn’t end with a stressful dash for a taxi or minicab.
At Knights MiniCabs, we turn airport travel into the calm, easy part of your journey.

🚆 IMPORTANT: 22-Day Closure – Charing Cross & Waterloo East
Honest, clear info for London commuters & travellers

📍 Which stations are affected?

Charing Cross and Waterloo East will be fully closed for 22 days.

Important note: Trains won’t stop here – but services will still run. They’ll either:
✅ Terminate at London Bridge, or
✅ Be diverted to Victoria, Cannon Street, or Blackfriars

Southeastern confirms your existing tickets will be accepted on:
🔹 Alternative rail routes
🔹 London Underground
🔹 Local buses

Expect longer journey times – allow extra time for connections.

🗓️ When is this happening?

Monday 26 July – Sunday 16 August 2026
This falls right at the start of the UK summer holidays.

Southeastern chose this window because weekday commuter numbers are typically lower than during term time. Their reasoning: one continuous 22-day closure is faster, more efficient, and causes less overall disruption than spreading work across many weekends or multiple shorter blocks.

🔧 What work is being carried out?

It’s much-needed renewal:
• 1,800 metres of track – installed in the early 1990s – is now “life-expired” and becoming unreliable.
• Drainage upgrades at Waterloo East
• Structural repairs to Hungerford Bridge

In short: replacing worn infrastructure that’s already caused thousands of minutes of delays in recent years. Doing it all in one go means fewer closures in the future and more consistent journeys long-term.

🚶 How to get around

If you need to reach the Charing Cross / Waterloo area:
✔️ From London Bridge, Victoria, Cannon Street or Blackfriars – use the Tube
✔️ Or enjoy a walk along the South Bank or across the bridges – great views, weather permitting!

From Scott Brightwell, Director of Operations & Safety, Southeastern:

“We know closing both stations for 22 days is a big change, and we’re sorry for the disruption. This wasn’t an easy decision – we reviewed every option. While none are perfect, a single summer closure is the least disruptive and most efficient way to get this vital work done.

This track is over 35 years old and has been a frequent cause of delays. By replacing it now alongside platform, drainage and bridge improvements, we fix the root problems in one go. The result: a more reliable railway with far fewer disruptions down the line.”

💬 My take: Annoying right now, but better than endless weekend closures or last-minute failures. A little short-term pain for longer-term gain.

🚨 Chaos in South London! Sinkholes Disrupt Train Services to Gatwick Airport 🚨
Breaking News: Holidaymakers and commuters heading to Gatwick Airport and Brighton faced major disruptions this Sunday as several sinkholes were discovered near a railway bridge south of Purley station. The discovery caused train services between Purley and East Croydon to be suspended, leaving thousands stranded or scrambling for alternatives.
Engineers from Network Rail discovered the sinkholes during planned maintenance work and immediately closed the affected lines for urgent safety inspections. The Gatwick Express from Victoria was also suspended, throwing travel plans into disarray. For some, this meant long queues for replacement buses and taxis quoting outrageous fares—up to £250 for a single trip to East Croydon. 😱
According to a spokesperson from Network Rail, the sinkholes caused ballast (the stones supporting the track) to fall through gaps in a bridge, making the track too unstable for trains. Although engineers have been working tirelessly to repair the damage, disruptions are expected to last until Monday morning, with limited services resuming later in the evening.

Major Tube strikes are set to take place across the London Underground next week – here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming industrial action

The London Underground is set to be impacted by some more strike action next week - here's what you need to know.

New June strikes have been marked in the RMT’s calendar, which are set to take place next week. And whilst there’s still time for negotiations to be made and for them to be called of; it’s best to be prepare (because failing to prepare is preparing to fail and all that). So, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming London Underground strikes.

Who is striking and why?

Tube drivers (who are members of the RMT) are striking due to an ongoing dispute regarding work pattern changes. London Underground management wish to condense the hours of a 5-day week into a 4-day week, and the union have rejected these plans, expressing concern about ‘fatigue, safety and work-life balance’. Approximately 1800 union members are involved in the dispute.

When are the upcoming strikes taking place?

Strike action across the London Underground is currently set to take place over the following dates:

Tuesday, June 2 (from 12.01am to 11.59pm)

Thursday, June 4 (from 12.01am to 11.59pm)

Some disruptions are also expected to take place during the mornings of Wednesday, June 3 and Friday, June 5.

The strikes are set to affect all Tube lines, but the Elizabeth line, the DLR, and the London Overground will all be running as usual (but TfL have warned that these services will be very busy). Luckily, the April industrial action was definitely less disruptive than previous strikes that the London Underground has seen. Drivers belonging to ASLEF are not partaking in the strikes, meaning that most lines were able to run a reduced service in some capacity throughout last week. If the strikes in June go ahead as planned, we can only hope that the impact continues to be as minimal as possible.

Londoners will need to use alternative transport methods across the affected dates. As previously mentioned, the Lizzie Line, DLR, and Overground will run as usual, as will London buses and trams. Transport for London has advised that passengers plan ahead, check their journeys in advance, and use alternative routes where possible.

You can use TfL’s website to stay up to date and plan your journeys.
