This summer, the British Pullman invites guests to slow down and savour the season on journeys to England's vineyards, charming seaside towns and historic cities.

The day begins with brunch. A sparkling Bellini accompanies smoked Hampshire chalk stream trout and our signature Brunch Bowl, showcasing exceptional British produce at its seasonal best as the countryside unfolds beyond the window.

As the journey home begins, dinner celebrates the provenance of British summertime. Free-range English guinea fowl is served with a light tarragon mousseline, summer baby vegetables and delicate potato pearls, before hand-picked English strawberries and fragrant elderflower take centre stage in a refined take on the classic British trifle.

British Pullman Presents: Summertime

Long days, coastal escapes and the best of English wine await this season. Journey through rolling countryside to acclaimed vineyards and charming seaside towns, where leisurely lunches, sparkling wine tastings and sea air set the pace.

A summer journey begins onboard with brunch: a sparkling Bellini, freshly baked pastries and the Battersea Brunch Bowl, followed by smoked Hampshire chalk stream trout on an open croissant, topped with a free-range poached egg and hollandaise sauce.

Throughout the season, the British Pullman travels to the Garden of England, celebrating Britain’s celebrated wineries, from the vineyards of Gusbourne to the warm welcome of Herbert Hall and the creative spirit of Westwell. Summertime also means journeys to the coast, with visits to charming seaside towns including Whitstable and Broadstairs.

Each experience ends onboard, with a seasonal three-course menu of Isle of Wight tomatoes, guinea fowl, strawberry trifle, English sparkling wine and the timeless romance of rail travel.

Welcome to Celia aboard the British Pullman.

As the train departed London, glamorous faces appeared to celebrate the launch of our newest carriage. Co-hosted by Baz Luhrmann, Catherine Martin and Anna Wintour, the evening began in Celia’s elegant bar and lounge, with live entertainment setting the tone. The curtains were soon drawn back to reveal a bespoke dining experience, before guests returned to the bar for a post-dinner party.

The carriage is a creative celebration of London’s 1930s West End theatre and vintage cinema, inspired by the British countryside, Shakespearean wit, and the unmistakable flair of a Baz Luhrmann film set. Co-created by Baz Luhrmann and Oscar-winning designer Catherine Martin, this original 1932 carriage follows the enchanting narrative of its fictional muse, Celia: a playful, after-hours West End leading lady, imagined as being gifted her own Pullman car in honour of her iconic role as Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Inside, you’re transported to a bygone era of nostalgic luxury. The carriage unfolds like a play in two acts: Act I begins in the cinematic bar, a sanctuary adorned with intricate patterns, floral motifs, and enchanting fairies, setting the scene for lively celebrations. As velvet curtains draw back, Act II immerses you in the dining room, where patterned marquetry mirrors quintessential English landscapes and pansies - symbols of British nostalgia, love and for the Victorians, forbidden romance featured in the elaborate details.
