Two things worth knowing before you book this summer.

The EU Entry/Exit System is now fully operational. Biometric registration has added real processing time at every major commercial hub, and at peak-season airports the effect builds through the day rather than easing.

At the same time, slots are closing faster than expected. Aircraft and airport slots that would normally hold into August are already gone for the most sought-after dates. Two forces are behind it: fuel costs tied to the situation in the Middle East, and frequent flyers locking in aircraft early before prices move further.

London to Nice is ninety-five minutes in the air. You can match that queuing at the border desk alone. Privately, none of that applies. A general aviation terminal sits outside the commercial passenger flow entirely, and for routes under two hours, which covers most summer destinations, the comparison is worth running before you book.
