Best places to visit in the shoulder season: some of my favourites right now.
These are the moments in between, when the crowds thin out, prices often soften and you see a different side to a destination.
🇦🇺 Tropical North Australia in August
Warm, dry and sunny, with the reef in great condition and the rainforest at its most inviting. Perfect if you want to snorkel, sail and explore without the humidity of the wet season.
🇫🇮 Lapland in June
Swap snow for the midnight sun. Forests are deep green, lakes are mirror‑still and you can hike or kayak late into the evening with long, golden light and far fewer visitors.
🇰🇪 Kenya in April
The long rains bring life back to the landscape. Expect lush plains, moody skies for photographers and quieter lodges, ideal if you want a more relaxed, great‑value safari.
🇪🇸 Granada in December
Cool, sunny days and a festive feel in the streets. You can wander the Albaicín, linger over tapas and visit the Alhambra without the intense summer heat or peak‑season queues.
🇲🇦 Morocco in January
Clear, bright winter days that are perfect for wandering souks, getting lost in the medinas or heading into the desert without the searing summer temperatures.
If you love the idea of travelling in that sweet spot between seasons, I can help you choose the right destination and timing to match your wishlist, and build a tailor‑made itinerary around it. Message me to start planning your own shoulder‑season escape.
