The Lilypad therapy space -
Just over a year ago Containers Direct were given the job to provide Bath City Farm with a second hand 20ft container to be completely transformed into a safe space for volunteers to offer mental health therapy from, the unit was delivered to the farm itself and the site had been carefully chosen to provide beautiful views in an accessible location, yet tucked away just far enough from the bustle of the working farm, creating a sense of tranquillity and a true connection to nature.
We were absolutely thrilled to be given this project as we believe having a therapy hut based on a farm would provide many more positive psychological effects and allow the body to relax in ways that possibly wouldn’t happen in an NHS clinic room.
We first ensured the used 20ft container was in perfect working order, we provide a 12-month wind and watertight guarantee for peace of mind. Then our welders got to work on creating the apertures for the large glass patio doors and upvc windows to welcome the calm natural light into the room whilst also providing a viewing space for the flowers, trees, animals and panoramic views of Bath outside.
We then painted the container a very environment fitting moss green before cladding the unit in our Siberian Larch Cladding and ply lining and insulating the interior. Once complete we believe the 20ft container that we started with was unrecognisable as something that had spent 10 – 15 years of its life travelling across the world and being handled in different ports, we had created a beautiful rustic therapy space.
