Celebrated every year on 21st May, World Chardonnay Day was founded in 2010 by wine writer and social media pioneer Rick Bakas, creating a truly global celebration for wine lovers everywhere 🍾💛

From the legendary limestone slopes of Burgundy 🇫🇷 to the rolling vineyards of England 🇬🇧, from elegant cool-climate expressions to rich oak-aged treasures 🪵, Chardonnay continues to enchant with its incredible ability to reflect terroir, craftsmanship and creativity.

It can be zesty and mineral-driven 🍋🦪, creamy and luxurious 🧈🥐, sparkling and celebratory 🍾🎉, or beautifully complex with age 🍂✨

Few grapes travel the world so gracefully while offering so many different personalities in the glass.

Today is about more than just wine. It’s a celebration of the growers 👩‍🌾, winemakers 🍇, sommeliers 🍷, restaurants 🍽️ and passionate wine lovers around the world who continue to champion this timeless variety.

Remembering back to World Chardonnay Day 2023

Today is World Chardonnay Day and a fantastic opportunity to shout 🔊 from the vine tops about our fantastic chardonnays.

First up is the BVV Blanc de Blancs - the soon to be released 2018 has been awarded a gold medal and described as 'smashing the brief for a blanc de blancs' at the The IEWA awards 2022.

Dorset Chardonnay is the wine we 💕💕 to serve to any ABC'ers! Described as 'a stunning chardonnay with more precision and poise than you could possibly expect', we relish bringing people back to Chardonnay after trying this one.

Unmasking Chardonnay - From Misunderstood to Marvellous! 🤩

Remember when 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐲 was the grape everyone loved to hate? But why? 🤷‍♀️ Originating from Burgundy, this adaptable grape spread globally, even becoming the UK's top planted variety! With a heritage rooted in Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc, Chardonnay thrives in diverse climates and soils, making it a grower's dream. 🍇

Chardonnay's versatility shines through its styles – from sparkling to rich and buttery. However, in the 80s and 90s, the New World's heavy-handed oak use overshadowed its natural charm, leading to its fall from grace. 📉
