Well… this is one way to discover your horsebox is taller than you thought. 😬🙈

Thankfully this wasn’t one of our boxes, and even more importantly there were no horses onboard ❤️🐴

But it does serve as a reminder that low bridges don’t care how experienced you are, how many miles you’ve driven, or how many times you’ve been down a road before. One wrong turn, a moment’s distraction, or a sat nav with its own agenda and things can go horribly wrong very quickly. 😔

Our hearts genuinely go out to the self-drive company involved. Behind every horsebox is a small business, countless hours of hard work, huge financial commitments, and often someone’s entire livelihood. Losing a vehicle like this isn’t just a damaged box – it’s lost bookings, insurance headaches, repairs, stress, and uncertainty. 💔

So whilst the internet loves a good “you can’t park there mate” moment… let’s remember there are real people dealing with the aftermath today. ❤️

A good reminder for all horsebox drivers:
✅ Check your vehicle height
✅ Plan routes carefully
✅ Don’t blindly trust the sat nav
✅ If in doubt, stop and check

And if you’re ever unsure about a bridge height… it’s far better to turn around and look silly for five minutes than become the star of Facebook for the next five years. 😅🙈

☀️🥵 It’s HOT out there… and horse welfare is ALWAYS our top priority at Nags on the Move 🐴❤️

Last night we rolled back just before midnight 🌙 and were back on the road again by 7am 🚛💨

Why? Because travelling horses during the cooler parts of the day is far safer and more comfortable for them 👌 Less heat, less stress, and less chance of getting stuck melting in traffic 🫠🚦

As fully licensed Type 2 transporters, our horseboxes are also kitted out with fans and temperature control systems 🌬️🌡️ meaning we can monitor exactly how warm it is in the back at all times to keep your horses travelling as safely and comfortably as possible 🐴✨

Plus… it means we get to spend the middle of the day at home enjoying the sunshine too 😏☀️🍹

Thank you to all our lovely clients for being flexible during this warm weather — the ponies always come first ♥️

Shoulder operation yesterday…
Back on the road this morning 👀😂

3 horses moved ✅
Self-drive customers dealt with ✅

Before anyone panics — I was STRICTLY supervising today! ☝️😇
(Translation: sat there pointing at things one-handed while pretending not to be frustrated 🤣)

The horses still needed moving, the wheels still needed turning, and let’s be honest… horse people aren’t very good at sitting still 🐴💨

Huge thank you to my wonderful fiancée helping keep Nags on the Move rolling while I’m temporarily held together with stitches and painkillers 🫠💖

Now taking bets on how long it’ll be before I’m told off for doing too much… 👀😂

Due to me having an operation, transport jobs are going to be a little limited for a short while, we do have other drivers but obviously they are not as skilled and witty as myself 😏🤕🚑

We are available 24/7 for genuine emergencies

However, we need to be clear…
📞 Calling at 6:30am on a Bank Holiday to enquire about self-drive hire is not an emergency! A text or email would have been acceptable.

While we don’t operate strict office hours, we do expect a level of respect when contacting us. Early mornings, late nights, and bank holidays should be reserved for urgent situations only.

We are a small business with a young family and busy lives outside of work, so protecting that time is important.

All non-urgent enquiries will be responded to during reasonable hours.

We appreciate your understanding – we’re always here when it truly matters.

☀️ Stuck in traffic… but honestly, not mad about it today 😍

Caught this absolutely stunning view while waiting, and it’s got to be the first proper hot day of the year! 🌿🌞

That said… as much as I’m loving the sunshine, I wouldn’t say no to a bit of rain now – the grass could really do with it! 🌧️🌱
