Did you know this is how livestock are moved between some islands on Lough Erne? 🐄🚤

When your field is on an island, there’s no road bridge and no shortcut.

Instead, the cows hop aboard a floating cot and take a surprisingly short ferry journey across the water before rejoining the herd on the other side.

It’s one of those wonderfully ordinary things for locals that completely stops visitors in their tracks.

Have you ever seen livestock transported like this before?

Follow for more unusual sights, hidden stories and everyday moments from around Ireland by road and water.

A moment I’ll never forget. A white-tailed eagle perched quietly before taking flight. One of Ireland’s most impressive wildlife success stories. Have you ever seen one in the wild?

I’d visited Lough Key before but had no idea it transformed into this.

Campervan parked nearby, boats filling the marina, live music across the forest and a concrete tower turned into a giant light show.

Definitely one of the most unexpected weekends I’ve had in Ireland.

Some places feel like they’ve stepped straight out of an Irish legend... 🍀✨

Keshcorran Cave on a misty morning was pure magic. The swirling cloud, rugged limestone and hidden cave entrance made it feel as though a giant might emerge at any moment.

The best part? You can park nearby and reach this viewpoint in around 15 minutes. Be warned though it’s a short but steep climb! The reward is one of those classic Irish landscape shots that looks even better in real life.

Have you visited Keshcorran Cave yet, or is it going on your Irish bucket list?

Follow for more hidden gems, scenic walks, moorings and campervan adventures across Ireland.

After two years of building Motorhome Routes Ireland, I’ve decided to close the website and route sales.

It’s been such a learning journey and I’m genuinely proud of what I created.

Moving forward, I’ll be keeping this page but shifting the focus more towards lifestyle content, campervan adventures, waterways life and everything in between. In fact this week I’ll be releasing content from attending Night & Day festival this weekend in my campervan & where I parked.

Less selling. More sharing. More fun.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported the journey so far. I do hope you’ll stay along fir the next chapter 🤍
