We're looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join On Track Technicians and help drive the successful delivery of rail and infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland and beyond.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious commercial professional who is ready to take on a broader leadership role, influence business performance, lead teams and play a key role in shaping the future of a growing organisation.

As Commercial Manager, you'll:
✔ Lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial professionals
✔ Oversee the commercial delivery of projects from tender through to final account
✔ Drive profitability through effective cost management and forecasting
✔ Manage NEC/JCT contracts and commercial risk
✔ Support business growth and strategic decision-making
✔ Work alongside operational teams to deliver critical infrastructure projects

We're looking for someone with experience in a senior commercial role within rail, infrastructure or construction, who thrives on collaboration, leadership and delivering results.

Salary scale: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum and range of staff benefits

🚧 Project Update: Lineside Stockproof Fencing 🦺

We’re currently progressing with our ongoing Translink Lineside Stockproof Fencing Framework, strengthening boundary protection and improving safety and resilience across the railway corridor.

This work plays a vital role in preventing livestock incursion, protecting railway infrastructure and supporting safer, more reliable rail operations.

Our teams are working methodically along the route, installing durable fencing designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions while minimising disruption to the operational railway.

On Track Technicians was proud to sponsor the Young Player of the Year Award at last week's Belfast Telegraph Sport Awards. We were in good company at the Crowne Plaza with Carl Frampton MBE, Dame Mary Peters and Martin O'Neill to name a few.

Congratulations to Harrison McGrogan who made history last year by becoming the first Irish weightlifter to win a gold medal at a European event, at just 17 years old. Our MD Daryl Irwin was delighted to present him with his well-deserved Young Player of the Year Award. With that type of focus, Harrison would make a perfect apprentice at OTT if he ever decides to make a career move!

Commiserations to our colleague Jonathan McClelland but congratulations must go to Heather Ardis who took home the Local Heroes Award for her work with the Buggy Club, a running group for parents and babies.

A really enjoyable night and well done to all the winners.

Wishing all the luck in the world to our colleague Jonathan McClelland who is nominated for the Local Heroes award tonight at the Belfast Telegraph Sport Awards.

Plus our MD, Daryl Irwin, will be handing out the award for Young Player of the Year, which OTT is sponsoring. Local sports clubs have always been at the heart of our strategy to help recruit the future talent of our industry. We've long worked with local football clubs and up and coming sports stars so tonight we are delighted to sponsor the young player category which feels very fitting.

Today, we were honoured to welcome the Northern Ireland Executive First Minister, Michelle O’Neill and Deputy First Minister, Emma Little-Pengelly to On Track Technicians’ new headquarters ahead of our big move in the Autumn.

The visit provided an opportunity for our leadership team to showcase OTT’s journey so far while discussing the ways in which our company aligns with many of the themes outlined in the Programme for Government, with the 25-26 annual report published today.

From a family business founded in 2016 with 10 employees, to a specialist rail engineering and infrastructure company employing more than 120 people and operating across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and UK.

During the visit, we discussed the vital role the rail sector plays in supporting economic growth, skills development and sustainable infrastructure, alongside OTT’s continued investment in people, innovation and technology.

We were proud to highlight:
🚆 Our apprenticeship and skills pipeline, with apprentices making up around one third of our workforce. Pictured is apprentice Adam Murphy showing the Ministers our new Gedo kit.
🚆 Our commitment to inclusive recruitment through the ‘Your Face Fits’ campaign, encouraging more women and minorities into our workforce.

On Track Technicians completed an upgrade to Springfarm Level Crossing in April 2026 working for our joint venture partners Adman Civil Projects Ltd.

The works involved general site clearance and earthworks, diversion and installation of drainage and cabling and installation of a bespoke access platform.

A key element of the project was use of Anchor System screw in piles to provide a sustainable foundation.

The works were completed by the installation of a new Level Crossing barrier system to enhance the Safety of this key part of infrastructure on the Translink network.

Kudos to our site team led by Damien McAvoy in another successful collaboration with Adman Civil Projects Ltd.
