OTT serves as principal contractor for Translink, delivering the maintenance and renewal of stockproof and security fencing across the rail network. This summer, we completed work in Larne along the lineside at Magheramorne.

Pictured here is our fencing team, led by Chris Heaney, who worked through numerous heatwaves to get the job done.

Throughout the project, we liaised with the client Translink and all landowners to ensure the works were completed efficiently, safely and satisfactorily. This is part of our ongoing fencing framework with Translink which has installed 20km to date.

We're on the lookout for subcontractors 🚧

Due to expanding workload across NI and in the UK, we're on the hunt for experienced teams and individuals to join us for a mix of railway and construction projects.

We'd love to hear from you if you've got experience in any of the following:
🔹 Fencing – palisade, security, boundary, rail & infrastructure
🔹 Civils – foundations, drainage, groundworks, ducting
🔹 Vegetation management – clearance, scrub removal, invasive species, trackside works.

You'll need a valid CSCS/CPCS (or equivalent). PTS is a bonus but not essential, we can get you trained up. Your own tools and transport help, but what matters most is that you take safety and quality seriously.

In return, we can offer solid rates, steady work and the chance to build a long-term relationship with a business that's genuinely growing.

We’re excited to share another important milestone for On Track Technicians, our new office space at Blanchardstown Corporate Park, Dublin.

This new location reflects our continued growth and long-term commitment to Ireland, providing us with a strong base to support our expanding operations, our people, and our customers.

As On Track Technicians continues to grow in the run up to our 10 year anniversary, investing in our presence in Ireland is an important part of building the infrastructure and capability needed for the future.

We’re proud of the progress we’re making and look forward to the next chapter from our new Dublin home.

🚆 Track Geometry Surveys Supporting Tamping Design for Translink

OTT has been supporting Translink with detailed track geometry surveys across multiple areas of the Translink network, utilising the GEDO trolley (pictured here) to capture high-accuracy track geometry data.

The surveys collect key parameters including longitudinal level, cross level, alignment, gauge and twist, providing a comprehensive picture of the existing track geometry. This data is then used to identify geometry defects, establish maintenance requirements and provide the information needed for the design and planning of tamping works.

By accurately recording the existing track condition, the survey data helps inform tamping requirements, optimise proposed corrections and support efficient maintenance planning across the network.

🎉 Continued professional development for OTT team members

We’re delighted to congratulate Cole and Robbie on successfully passing their Pandrol Welding Course this month.

This is a fantastic achievement and one that requires a high level of technical knowledge, practical ability, attention to detail and commitment to railway safety. The course covers the key principles and procedures involved in rail welding, including understanding the welding process, preparation of the rail, equipment and materials, correct alignment and joint preparation, pre-heating, welding techniques, finishing and inspection of the completed weld.

A lot of hard work, concentration and practical skill goes into achieving this qualification, so it’s a well-deserved congratulations to both Cole and Robbie. Adding another two Pandrol welders to our highly skilled on-track rail welding team. 👏💪
