Today whilst enroute to collect some luggage we decided to do a circular walk round Malham Cove.

Heading up to the bottom of the Cove on an accessible path the sheer height of the limestone cliff is something to be viewed, then climb up some steep steps to the top. Once there take care walking over the limestone pavements along the top of the cove looping round and down the other side to Gordale Bridge, lastly to Janets Foss and along another accessible path back into Malham.

A very enjoyable short walk approx. 4.5miles with breath taking views and also walking along part of the Pennine Way which celebrates 60 years in 2025!

The River Ure runs right through Wensleydale with numerous bridges allowing us to cross over the valley.
With lots of becks and streams along the dale all running off the hills into river it gradually gets wider the further east you travel.
One bridge the stands out is a Grade II listed building and that’s Middleham Bridge.

A trip over the hill from Wensleydale to Swaledale is always a joy, one of our favourite routes.

Keld is a popular pick up and drop off point for walkers and their luggage. There are lots of circular walks around Keld, plus The Coast to Coast, The Pennine Way, The Herriot Way and The Swale Way all pass through Keld.

After collecting a group staying in Hawes from the train station this week they asked for recommendations on walks, places to visit and eat.

We gladly shared our local knowledge, here’s one of the walks transported them to and from, approx 8.5miles.

Starting in Bainbridge they collected provisions from Corn Mill.The Bake-Well then headed up the fields to Semerwater, round the lake taking in the Old Church at Stalling Busk, across to Marsett, then up and over the top meeting the old Roman road and back into Bainbridge. They were ready for an ice cream before their ride back to Hawes.

A section of the Pennine Way is from Ribblehead to Hawes, an 11 mile hike over the moors.

What a historic magnificent piece of engineering to view at the start or finish depending on which way you do the walk. Our customers on the journey this morning were certainly looking forward to it.

A popular pick up and drop off point for us is Garsdale Train Station on the Settle to Carlisle Line.
What a beautiful drive it is to the station, never mind the train ride itself.

A beautiful accessible walk to Cotterforce just a short journey from our base in Bainbridge.

The sound of the flowing water to gushing falls, the lovely smell of fresh water and wild garlic, some of the wild flowers sited were primroses and bluebells.
Watching the lambs in the fields running and skipping along.

A 6 mile circular walk heading westward from Bainbridge.
Heading up towards Helm then along to Skellgill, just over the hill following the path to West Shaw Cote. Following the track round and then down the pasture towards the road, crossing this and then diagonally down the next pasture and back along the disused railway to Bainbridge.
