If you are a driver and the company you are working for is asking for your National Insurance Number in order to check your driving licence you should refuse to provide it.
By using your NI number they are claiming to be you when using the licence check when you can visit the website and provide them with a code to view your licence.
The information that is provided by the two different checks may vary and some information is classed as non disclosable after five years.
