Help to Grow Your Own this Summer
It’s not too late to start growing some tasty vegetables. The Summer holidays are the perfect time to sow kale, lettuce and beetroot in your garden and get a windowsill herb garden going for all year round flavour.

TCV has teamed up with LifeLinks Leicester (www.rflifelinks.co.uk) to offer a series of interactive Zoom workshops on Kindness & Self-compassion, specially designed to bring a little TLC during these challenging times.

We have two dates next week:

In partnership with Leicester City Council we're running a survey that's seeking to understand how people interact with their green spaces or not.

We would like as many people as possible to respond to the survey so that we can get a real sense of how to improve our volunteering opportunities and also encourage people to get involved in their local parks, gardens, allotments, nature reserves and water side.

The survey is available on https://consultations.leicester.gov.uk/communications/envol-survey/

It only takes a few minutes to complete. The deadline for survey responses is the 31st December 2017.

Congratulations to Helen Pettman and Diane Bell on their success at receiving a Level 3 Award for the Grow & Thrive Project hosted on the TCV Rowlatts Hill Allotment Site! Both Diane and Helen have worked hard to secure funding to develop the growing potential of the site by installing a Summerhouse, improving access paths and bringing in professional permaculture trainer to offer the community advice on growing food. This project has complemented the Leicester City Food Plan really well.

Further work on the allotment will include establishing a Friends group locally, to give people locally the opportunity to use the allotment more regularly.
