The entry list for the Vintage Shamrock 2027 is now live.

Here's some of our favourite moments from the 2026 event. Four days of wonderful roads, great company and pre-war machinery doing exactly what they were built to do.

The Vintage Shamrock has become a firm favourite for many crews. There is still time to join us in Ireland next May.

🚗 A–Z of Historic Cars: V is for Volkswagen

Founded in 1937 with the ambition of creating an affordable car for the masses, Volkswagen became best known for the Type 1, later nicknamed the Beetle, whose air-cooled reliability and unmistakable shape turned it into a global icon.

But Volkswagen’s story didn’t stop there. In 1974 the company launched the Golf, followed two years later by the Golf GTi, a car that helped define the hot hatch era and changed performance motoring forever.

So far, just two Volkswagen’s have appeared on a Rally the Globe event: Peter Spak and Lisa Schnell’s 1956 Beetle 1100 on the Austria to Athens Challenge in 2024 and Nigel Woof’s 1986 Golf GTi Mk2 at this year’s Generations Rally. Between them they did exactly what Volkswagens have always done best: got on with it, whatever the road demanded.

We’d love to see more on the start line.

Events like Vintage Shamrock ☘️ are built on two things: great crews and great people behind the scenes.

To our wonderful team and the army of volunteer marshals who gave their time across four days, standing at junctions and time controls in all weathers, guiding crews through and keeping everything on the road, thank you. Every single section, every smooth day, every moment the crews got to enjoy was because of you.

It doesn't go unnoticed and we couldn't do it without you 🙏

🍀 Vintage Shamrock 2027 entries are now open.

The eighth edition of the Vintage Shamrock returns to Ireland from 10th - 13th May 2027, and next year it breaks new ground, venturing into the rugged landscapes of County Donegal and crossing into Northern Ireland for the very first time.

Pre-war cars, Irish roads, and a route that keeps getting better. Entries are now open. We'd love to see you there.
