With the Albatross coming into Solent Airport soon, ground work has started here at Lee for our new water runway (aka the big Lee swimming pool). Allowing seaplanes and flying boats to arrive into Lee again since the closure of the slipway.

Maybe in the summer we will open the water runway up to locals to cool down in heatwaves.

➡️ Latest news - Solent Airport welcomes new operator

Fareham Borough Council has today officially transferred the operation of Solent Airport at Daedalus to EGHF Ltd, marking the commencement of an initial five-year contract, with options to extend.

EGHF will be working closely with the Council over the first year to assess the feasibility of a range of potential future options to support the Council’s vision, including attracting new employment and business opportunities to the site.

Matt Wilkins, Director of EGHF, has been working with the existing team at the airport for a number of months already and brings with him an extensive and proven track record within aviation, underpinned by strong sector connections and deep industry knowledge.
