And a third piece of Solway Adventurer maintenance news! ⛵️

The companionway has also been sanded extensively, prepped, and varnished. We only had time for one coat, so more will have to be applied as time goes on.

More boat maintenance news from Go West Sailing home base! ⛵️

Iain has done an amazing job polishing the port side of Solway Adventurer today. He started with a deep cut compound and then went over it again with a fine compound. We just have to tackle the starboard side when she's back! ✨

Welcome to the team, Iain! ⛵️

Iain will be assisting Shannon with admin and helping Norton keep our boats shipshape. Today he was busy polishing Solway in the glorious sunshine! ☀️

Got to keep the workforce happy 😂 – here is a very happy boy taking a well-deserved break with his ice cream and coffee. 🍦☕️

Please join us in giving Iain a warm Go West Sailing welcome! 👋

A rare sight captured by one of our charterers aboard Solway Adventurer over in Lamlash yesterday! They spotted a rainbow to the east—apparently quite an unusual occurrence for the area. ⛵🌈

⛵️ The Sail: Easy to handle but surprisingly nippy, she performs beautifully across the wind range.

⎈ The Handling: Excellent manoeuvrability for those tighter Highland anchorages and busy marinas.

🛏️ The Interior: Modern, light, and airy - a welcoming "home from home" after a day on the water.

💷 The Price: Rates from £2495 per week

📣 New sailing date announcement: West Coast & Northern Ireland Whisky Tour ⛵️

We have scheduled an extra departure on 27th September, alongside our final remaining berths on the 13th September. Both are 7-day passages, priced at £895 pp (all-inclusive).

This route offers an excellent mix of practical navigation and visits to iconic distilleries. We will sail through the Inner Hebrides, with potential anchorages at Mull (Tobermory) and Gigha, whilst navigating the Sound of Jura and the Gulf of Corryvreckan. The itinerary also regularly includes a stop on Islay for a dram at the Laphroaig Distillery.

For crew looking to build qualifying miles toward Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster, we can shape a course to Northern Ireland. This allows for a stop in Ballycastle to visit the Giant’s Causeway or Old Bushmills Distillery, with the return leg potentially routing past Arran or Holy Island.

We will post any future cancellation updates here. To secure one of the final berths on the 13th or the new 27th September passage, get in touch:
