Port of Lancaster at Glasson

Port of Lancaster at Glasson We want to play our small part in making Glasson Dock an even greater place to live, work and visit.

Here at the Port of Lancaster, we had a busy and pleasant bank holiday weekend – despite the weather not being perfect. The Port was pleased to see Wilson Dunmore loaded and set sail as planned, We have had a couple of queries forwarded which were raised locally and I am happy to deal with those. One was regarding demolition of buildings – there are no firm plans in place currently to demolish any Port buildings due to the buildings currently being under tenancy. The second was regarding run off from the quays after a vessel has left. This has been raised previously. With regard to run off into the Lune, the site is licensed through the Environment Agency, so far all run off has been removed by road tanker by the license holder and the Port is satisfied that no pollution incidents have occurred.

Please remember, if you have any queries, we are happy to receive them, either via email at [email protected] or telephone the office on 01524751724. We may not be able to answer all your queries immediately, depending on Port operations but will always get back to you.

The village also saw lots of visitors over the weekend to celebrate Glasson Dock Day, organised by local businesses and the Church. We were pleased to have been able to support this great initiative as part of our commitment to the local community as a Trust Port. We look forward to further involvement in the future.

Our pleasure!
