Quick Update:

Fresh water has been reinstated on the pontoon and is available for use.

Pontoon remains afloat at all states of tide however deeper berthing requirements will require vessel owners to check charted depths (innermost section of pontoon only suitable for shallow draft vessels at low tide).

Further details on berthage space to follow!

2 none usable sections of pontoon have been removed, hopefully GaelForce will attend soon to reinstate the final 2 sections.

Hopefully the good weather continues and we look forward to meeting more visiting vessels.

Isle of Raasay Gala Day - 19/07/2025

A long awaited update:

Raasay's Pontoon has had a series of difficulties in the form of the connections between the pontoon main structure wearing and breaking prematurely. To protect the pontoon main structures the last 'leg' was removed.

RDT has been working with GaelForce Marine to rectify this - GaelForce are expected to extend the existing second 'Leg' and install 2 moorings for visiting vessels using the existing anchor blocks (hopefully early this Summer dependent on availability of an adequate workboat).

For the time being the pontoon is functional but has reduced capacity and we cannot book out berths - the pontoon will remain first come first serve.

We look forward to the completion of this rectification work and to welcoming more visitors in the future.
