Truly heartbreaking! Tomorrow we say goodbye to our hero, our beloved gramps, David Mitchell, a cherished member of our team, helping to create us from the very beginning through his hardwork and commitment. He was always so proud of Thrasos Logistics and would tell any one that would listen all about us! His friendship, stories and kindness will never ever be forgotten x ❤️❤️
David “Dave” Mitchell of Grangewood has
passed away suddenly at home, aged 79 years.
Born and raised in Chesterfield, Dave spent much of his working life on the road, driving buses and lorries locally and around the country. He also spent many years as a popular caller at Top Rank and Mecca Bingo.
He held a lifelong passion for music as a guitarist and singer, performing locally and on the seaside circuits for many years.
Dave enjoyed music, caravanning by the coast, completing a crossword, tinkering in his garden or with his beloved gadgets, and spending time with his family.
He leaves his devoted wife Jacqueline, married for 61 years; much-loved dad of David and Kim, and the late Shaun and Robert; a cherished grandad of Kealan, Tommy, Jordan, Jobie, Perry, Joseph and Poppy; and a proud great-grandad of six. A friend to all who met him.
His funeral service will be held at Chesterfield Crematorium on 22nd October at 12:30 p.m.
In keeping with Dave’s character, smart dress is appreciated, but black attire is not necessary.
