Wow! That went quickly! 🚂✨ That’s a wrap on Traction Engine Weekend 2026!

Here are some highlights from this year’s event for those who couldn’t make it…

We were thrilled to welcome over 40 miniature vehicles across the weekend, in all shapes, sizes, and scales — all while running a full train service alongside them!

It truly was a special sight: steam road vehicles waiting patiently at level crossings as trains passed by!
A real miniature world in motion — like stepping into the pages of a children’s railway book, or travelling back in time.

This event simply wouldn’t be possible without our incredible volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to bring it all to life 💪 From the organisers coordinating and booking everyone in, to our railway volunteers keeping trains running smoothly throughout the weekend...

Our carriage & wagon team ensuring coaches are ready for the demands of intensive operation…

And of course our catering team, keeping everyone going by making sure drivers and volunteers are well fed — and supplied with tea on a near constant drip! ☕😄

Thank you to everyone who visited, exhibited, and helped make the weekend such a fantastic success — we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
