A Lifetime on Wheels
My earliest happy memories are being on some kind of wheeled transport - be that a pram, scooter or bike. In my teen years I built and repaired bicycles for neighbours and friends - which progressed to repairing scooters and cars as paid work. I don’t ride as much these days but still love the freedom that simple mechanics and a set of wheels can give.
After seeing so many usable bikes at the local tip (being sold ‘as seen’ by the tip) we felt there was a need for some kind of process where people can just swap or give bikes to people that can use them. Or donate them to local charities that work with families in need.
You can post on the page - as a comment on the pinned ‘Re-Cycle’ post to say you have a bike available for swap or for sale. If you want to give it away please say. If you want to donate it to a local food bank or charity then let us know.
None of the bikes posted on the pinned thread will have been serviced or assessed by us - we are just providing a means for people to exchange or sell bikes. We have no financial interest in those bikes.
