What a privilege it was to travel to Denmark to attend the naming ceremony of our latest 9.2m Maxus Fast Cat for KDY - Royal Danish Yacht Club 🇩🇰⚓️

Built here at our workshop in Northern Ireland, the vessel, now known as Ellen, has already completed quite the journey before reaching her new home in Rungsted Harbour. It was fantastic to see her officially named and welcomed into the KDY fleet last Friday!

We would like to thank Mads for his kind words during the ceremony and to everyone at KDY for the warm welcome and hospitality we received throughout our visit 😊

As highlighted during the ceremony, Ellen’s role extends far beyond supporting sailing activities. The new vessel will also play an important part in a wide range of events and initiatives that benefit the wider community 🛥️🌊

Thank you to KDY for trusting G Smyth Boats with this project, it was an absolute pleasure! We wish the club all the best with their new boat!🎉

Boy John B.1029 returning to the water last week after some maintenance work here at our workshop🤩

Built back in 2019, it was great to welcome it back for a bit of TLC and see it looking well before heading back out on the water.

We’re always pleased to see our past builds return to the yard, and of course it’s always a pleasure catching up with Eric and Jean😊 Wishing them all the best with the season ahead!

What a great end to the week🤩

And just like that, another fantastic Skipper Expo comes to an end! ⚓️

We’re all packed up and beginning the long journey home after a brilliant few days in Aberdeen. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand, had a chat with us and made the show such a success.

A special thanks goes to everyone involved behind the scenes who helped make it all happen, especially the lorry drivers, Thomas and Tom from Kilkeel Freight, Andrew from Automar and of course our youngest team member Noah, who supervised the whole operation from start to finish!

It was great to see such a strong line up of boats and vendors on display throughout the show. We had a great time in Aberdeen and are looking forward to the Galway show next year.

A big thanks as well to our team back in Kilkeel who put in the hard work building the boats to such a high standard for us to showcase at the show🛥️

Finally, a big well done and thank you to Sharon and everyone at The Skipper for putting on such a fantastic event!👏
