Josh's Skiddaw Everest Challenge!
If you’ve ever popped into E-Venture Bikes to have your bicycle repaired then you’ve probably already met Josh. Like the rest of us, when he’s not tinkering with bikes at work he can usually be found riding them instead.
This Saturday, after months of training he is taking on a rather sizeable challenge.
Starting at 6pm on Saturday evening he will attempt to ride his mountain bike up (and back down) Skiddaw 11 times, equalling the height of Mt Everest - 8849 vertical meters - with the aim of finishing within 24 hours.
You might ask why he’s decided to take on this challenge, and that is a fair question.
Well it’s all to raise money for the fantastic Calvert Trust. In Josh’s own words:
“I’m doing this to support the incredible work of the Lake District Calvert Trust, who provide life-changing outdoor adventure experiences for people with disabilities. Their work proves that adventure, challenge, and achievement should be accessible to everyone, and I hope this challenge reflects that spirit.”
We hope you’ll join us in wishing Josh all the best for this weekend, we’re sure he’s going to absolutely smash it!
If you would like to contribute to this great cause he has set up a JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/josh-day-1
