I have just spent about half an hour watching progress videos of people playing on YouTube (not something I would usually do). It became apparent that the people claiming to be proficient after only so many lessons with an app or watching online are falsely claiming that they have learned in a short amount of time. On closer inspection you can tell they have certain techniques that are taught or you find out that they are already a good musician on another instrument and have transferred their skills. This can do two things, inspire people to learn or make it seem overwhelming. To become a musician takes hours of dedication and commitment to the instrument, practise, tears and all... and having a really good tutor to help you through, to be your champion, to motivate and praise all the work you put in is KEY to your success. This is the reason we do what we do and have seen huge successes in our students over the years.
