A special celebration of Invergordon’s community spirit!

Invergordon Off the Wall are celebrating with Art in the Gardens, 21 Years of Volunteer Spirit.

Join them at Natal Gardens on Saturday 22 August, 10am–4pm for live art, music, dancing, crafts and local stalls as they celebrate the people and stories behind Invergordon’s murals.

And if you’re feeling creative, you might even get the chance to help decorate some Ducks! 🦆

🌊🐠 Meet Quack Cousteau - the deep diving, bubble blowing explorer of the Invergordon Duck Trail. Quack Cousteau has officially surfaced on the Duck Trail. Early this morning he waddled out from the Port of Cromarty Firth, snorkel polished, flippers adjusted, and curiosity bubbling like a freshly discovered shipwreck.

Quack Cousteau doesn’t just explore… he dives into wonder.
His first stop? Anywhere with water. He’s already been spotted peering over harbour edges, inspecting puddles with scientific seriousness, and attempting (with mixed success) to communicate with local fish sculptures. He’s a duck of the depths - even if those depths are sometimes just a very enthusiastic rain barrel.

There’s a calm, adventurous charm about him - the kind of duck who checks the water temperature before every splash, adjusts his snorkel with professional pride, and hums a soft underwater tune whenever he’s feeling especially pleased with the local marine mysteries. He’s thoughtful. He’s intrepid. He’s full of character. And yes - Quack Cousteau of the Ducking and Diving Scuba Club is ready to be adopted today from Invergordon Museum.

If you’re collecting Duck Trail personalities, Quack Cousteau is the one who says, “Let’s dive into discovery.” If you’re new to the trail, he’ll greet you with a gentle bubble and a confident tilt of his snorkel. And if you adore a duck with explorer spirit, maritime mischief, and a heart full of ocean blue curiosity, he’ll win you over instantly.

🦆🌿 DUCK TRAIL - MURAL EDITION: “OUR LEGACY” (2006) 🌿🦆

The Invergordon Duck has now fluttered over to one of the most colourful and nature‑filled stops on the Mural Trail - “Our Legacy”, painted by Tracey Shough in 2006.

He’s been absolutely mesmerised by the swirl of wildlife, sea creatures, birds, flowers, and coastal colours. At one point he tried to blend in with the oystercatchers… but his tartan bow tie gave him away. He’s especially fond of the mural’s message - take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time - and has declared himself an official ambassador for responsible duck‑based tourism.

Perched proudly beneath the painted shutters, he’s been soaking up the reminder that the Cromarty Firth’s natural beauty is something to treasure. He even attempted to chat with the dolphins, but they were busy leaping through the waves (and also painted).

If you’re passing by, look out for him admiring every creature on the wall and pretending he’s starring in a nature documentary.

🎅🦆 Meet Nollaig – the merry hatted, winter wandering festive spirit of the Invergordon Duck Trail.

Is it too early to think about Christmas? Nollaig says absolutely not. Named from the Scottish Gaelic for Father Christmas, he’s arrived in full seasonal splendour - red Santa hat perched proudly, white beard keeping him snug, and a twinkle in his eye that suggests he’s already planning his holiday rounds.

Nollaig doesn’t just celebrate… he radiates Christmas cheer wherever he waddles. He’s the duck who pauses at every decorated window, admires fairy lights with deep artistic seriousness, and hums a jolly tune even when it’s only July. There’s a warm, festive glow about him - the kind of duck who would happily deliver presents, organise a carol sing along, and still find time to enjoy a mince pie.
He’s joyful. He’s spirited. He’s full of character. And yes - Nollaig is ready to be adopted today from Invergordon Museum.

New Coach Pick-Up & Drop-Off Point Now In Operation

A reminder that the new temporary coach pick-up and drop-off point on Castle Road is now in place for independent coach tour operators visiting Invergordon.

The trial, introduced by The Highland Council following feedback from cruise stakeholder meetings, aims to help reduce congestion on Shore Road during busy cruise days and make pick-ups and drop-offs smoother for passengers, tour operators and local traffic.

The two coach bays are located on Castle Road, opposite Scran, and are available during the following times:

07:00–10:00
15:00–18:00

The disabled parking bay in this area has also moved to the opposite side of Castle Road during these times.

Thank you to residents, visitors and road users for your understanding while this trial is underway. We will continue to share updates as the trial progresses.
