Since the take over of Balvert & Zn b.v. on 7th January 2019, we have retained some of the trucks in the Balvert colours.The blue sky in this photo compliments the truck beautifully !

No way! 125 Tonnes

Having received an enquiry to move two huge vessels from Germany to Norway, Westdijk had to think out of the box to get this cargo moving.

At 10.50 x 5.00 x 5.07m and weighing 125 Tonnes each, it was not possible to drive all the route by road. Westdijk arranged the local transport out of the factory to Dillingen port using two of our modular 15 row axle trailers.

Two cranes were waiting ready to load the vessels into a barge which then brought them to Rotterdam where they were loaded onto a ship direct to Norway and delivered to the customers premises.

All aboard the Westdijk express!

Westdijk were called upon to demonstrate their expertise in the transportation of railway carriages. The job was to collect a 44 tonne carriage, dimensions 24.00 x 2.80 x 3.70m from Rotterdam quay and deliver it to the Ruhr area of Germany.
Westdijk have always had a strong reputation within the locomotive industry and our investment in some specialised trailers, purpose built to carry railway carriages has further enhanced this reputation and our commitment to our customers.
