le and up to 2 dogs, in a King Bedroom, a Twin Bedroom and Double Cabin Bed. The beds are made up with luxurious bed linen & warm duvets. There are even blankets and hot water bottles should you need them! Each Glamping lodge has its own en-suite shower room and separate wash room, with flushing loo and basin. Hot water is provided by a wood burning boiler, that also ensures the shower room is warm as toast! We provide all your bath linen, plus a gorgeous range of natural aromatherapy bathroom products. At the heart of the lodge is our wood burning stove: it will keep the lodge warm in all weathers, and provides a means of cooking. We also have a holiday cottage, The Long Barn, for those that prefer bricks & mortar to canvas. Sleeping 4 it is situated near the Farm Shop and is available to book all year round. We have 17 acres of beautiful countryside for you to enjoy at Longlands, including meadows, ancient woods and streamside walks to discover & explore. The lakeside meadow is perfect for rounders and there is also a football goal and cricket net. Under cover we have table tennis and there are books & games in our on site shop. Or if you prefer order a meal from the Longlands Menu or visit our on site Larder shop for ice cream, snacks, cheeses, chutneys, chocolates and much more. "Which bedroom is the best?”

We’ve been asked this twice today — along with another very understandable question from larger groups:

Will couples have to share bedrooms with other couples?

The answer is that Longlands can be arranged very differently from a typical large holiday house.

Lakeview Farmhouse has six bedrooms and acts as the heart of the stay — the place to eat, celebrate and spend time together.

Our five Safari Lodge Treehouses then provide additional private sleeping spaces around the estate, giving couples, families, colleagues, retreat guests and smaller friendship groups somewhere of their own to retreat to at the end of the evening.

Each Treehouse has a king bedroom, a twin bedroom and a hidden cabin bed — although, in our experience, the double cabin bed is often the one everyone argues over. 😂

Across the Farmhouse and Treehouses, Longlands can accommodate up to:

21 separate sleeping spaces
34 beds

An authentic African safari… almost

With this week’s heatwave, our Safari Lodge guests could be forgiven for thinking they’ve travelled considerably further than North Devon.

The sun is blazing, the grass is golden and the evenings are made for sitting outside, stargazing in our Dark Sky Reserve.

Admittedly, our wildlife is slightly less intimidating.

Instead of lions wandering past the lodges, we have deer appearing at the woodland edge. Instead of elephants gathering at the watering hole, we have ducks cruising across the wild-swimming lake.

No passports. No long-haul flight. Just an 18-acre private valley, Safari Lodge Treehouses and what may currently be the hottest corner of Devon.

Longest day. First swim within the hour.

The summer solstice has arrived at Longlands — and North Devon has apparently decided to go full safari.

Today’s guests had barely unpacked before they were in the wild swimming lake cooling down. Now the light will linger over the valley until late, the decks will stay warm into the evening, and the sunset will do the rest.

This is what our Safari Lodge Treehouses were made for: slow summer days, wild water, dusky skies and evenings that seem to go on forever.
