I am very sad to announce the passing of a very dear and close friend and collegue Robert Tait. A true legend in the removals scene in Huddersfield and a pioneer in the storage industry during the 70's and 80's. He operated R.J.Tait & Son Removals and storage and was based in Taylor Hill. He had a very impressive fleet of removal trucks in his day and I remember as a boy working with my dad gazing in awe at all the matching green trucks with his name on them. I used to see buses round town with his advertisements plastered on the back and one bus was completely covered in his advertising liveries. It was later in his career when he had scaled back to just storage that our paths crossed as I used to collect items for his customers and take it to his storage. We had similar interests and our working relationship became more of a friendship. My wife and I spent many hours with him over the last 10 years or so, socially and also helping him with his many projects (he was never still). We talked on the phone almost every day, mostly just for a catch up on the daily events. He passed away last week with his family by his side after a short time in hospital with illness. Please enjoy the pictures I have added and I hope it jogs your memory of him if you ever met him. Rest in peace Robert.

Yesterday was the funeral of our colleague and dear friend Pat 'Parzy' Walsh. It was a perfectly fitting funeral for him that paid tribute to his wonderful life. His family really did an amazing job in celebrating his life. We paid tribute to his service to the removals industry by following the cortage in his old van 'Little mule'. Rest easy old pal.

We are very sad to announce the passing of our very dear friend and colleague Pat Walsh formerly of Pat Walsh Removals. He worked with us part time in his retirement around 2016. He will be sadly missed. He was a great character. 12.06.24. R.I.P.
