Following the recent heavy rainfall, the initial section of Runway 07 (grass) is currently very soft and boggy for approximately the first 50–60 metres from the threshold.

Pilots are advised not to land on or taxi across this section to avoid the risk of getting stuck. When using Runway 07, please land beyond this soft area and line up from around 50–60 metres in.

All visiting aircraft requesting PPR will also be briefed on these conditions.

Runway 25 (tarmac) remains in excellent condition with no standing water.

Thanks for your cooperation and fly safe.

An invasion of Beavers! Gareth, owner of the rather nice plane, entertains and educates a local group of Beavers at the airfield. Fun was had by all and who knows one or two may be inspired to get their wings! Nice one Gareth.

Morning ladies and gentlemen! This is Walter, our windsock, visible from Terminal 2. The weather is less than promised, however, the team are out busily placing the Mark 1 ILS along the runway edge. That's paraffin lamps to those not in the know.
So, with steadfast Yorkshire optimism we look to the east for the clearing.
The pies are warming, the peas on simmer. And we wait...

Tomorrow is looking good... pies looking better!
