When we mention that Silversea has a 24 hour butler service to guests a lot of you get a little worried, a little uncomfortable, find the idea not that appealing. So let us help...
Your butler is there to help you - they can help you as much or as little as you want them to. For some guests butlers will add so much to their experience and they get them to help them on all sorts of things.
For other guests, the butler can be no different to a room attendant they might have experienced on another cruise line. The choice is yours.
Our butler Aaryan was pleasant, friendly, helpful - we didn't disturb him and he didn't disturb us. We didn't request anything other than a couple of different items in our mini bar, an in-suite breakfast 1 morning and a couple of extra chocolates on the last night!! (To console ourselves with the news we had to leave!! LOL) Other than that Aaryan refreshed our suite, said hello when passing in the corridor or around the ship and that was all.
Aaryan and his fellow butlers can and will do so much more if you would like them to! You can connect with them through WhatsApp so you can stay in touch with them while onboard, especially useful if you've had bad weather on a shore excursion and would like a hot bath to be run to return to or if you want to have a movie night when you get back and would like some popcorn or crisps to be delivered to your suite.
Butlers can unpack for you or indeed pack for you on that last day, change your beautiful Otivm product for BVLGARI, bring you a bottle of spirits, run that bath or even set up your shower with a shower bomb scent and mood lighting, deliver you breakfast or 24 hour room service and help guide you on anything around the ship.
They can do as much or as little as you wish... they are not pushy, it's not formal, we chatted about all sorts of things with Aaryan and others. He was lovely. It's really just about knowing there's an extra pair of hands, an extra support if you need them.
Please don't be put off any cruise line because you're concerned about the idea of butler service as you might be missing out on that experience you've always wanted...
