So the World Cup begins tonight - over 3 countries Mexico ,USA and Canada .
England & Scotland are playing are playing their group games in USA - This is quite a humid time in the USA and MEXICO as this time of year starts the 'hurricane season' which stays until November . Which is why you saw the torrential rain in Florida last night. This will effect Florida , Texas and also Mexico so hopefully everyone has got their brollies with them !

Lets hope everything goes well without any issues

You need an electronic visa for Canada like the USA (esta) - always check them to make sure they are valid before travel as you can not fly without authorisation - I read in the news the USA have been cancelling some of the ESTAS for travellers this is quite rare - always best to check 4 days before to give you time to redo them should this happen as the average time for authorisation is 10 minutes to 72 hours

I have people travelling to the USA on a regular basis and have never had any visa issues - just to give you confidence

I recently stayed at the Tagoo Hotel in Mykonos - it will be featured in the TV series 'Emily in Paris' as they filmed there we were there! It is a 4* Boutique hotel in a fabulous location just outside Mykonos town with beautiful sunsets , lovely staff and plenty of charm

I worked as a rep in 1994 -32 years ago! So it was fun returning to Naxos to see how much it has changed . Only spent time in the town didnt get chance to explore as you need more time as there are over 30 villages need another visit the food was great !( as always)

What I found amusing was that there seemed to be a lot more ladies in Mykonos than men! So could it be the Shirley Valentine effect? ( as that is where it was filmed) Mykonos usually there are more men...or maybe the time of year? Attracted to the bohemian vibe

There was a lot of Spanish , Italian & Americans ( I didn't hear a lot of English accents) which was interesting

I am wondering if it because Mykonos doesn't embrace the all inclusive culture that not many brits go there? As there is mostly boutique hotels that do bed & breakfast encouraging everyone to eat out and enjoy the bars and tavernas in teh town. Which were thriving . It was nice to go out and eat at different tavernas
Costs were comparable to what you pay in the UK -portions quite large we ended up sharing a main

It is really peaceful spot with a small beach close by not far from the New port
Beautiful rooms , stunning pool area, lovely breakfast and great views of all the cruise ships that came in daily! 40 rooms in total

*Platys Yialos beach featured is on the south of the island and you need to get a local bus to get there*
