I am often told I have a very glamorous job but 2026 is pushing the boundaries !
Last night for instance I get a text to say flights had been cancelled from Berlin to Birmingham ( also Manchester , and Gatwick) due to delays , weather and the airport being our of 'operation hours'
My hands were tied as the customers were under what is known as airport control and I had to wait for the airline to offer new flights and an over night hotel as it was quite late at night - so I sat at my desk and waited . After several hours the airline then said 'find your own hotel and we will compensate you ' and oh by the way there are no flights so we are flying you home to Edinburgh in 2 days time oh and can you also make your own way home and we will re compensate you!

I was on hold for over an hour on the phone double checking that there was no other option and what my customers could claim for..I sorted the hotel so that the customers could escape the airport which was pretty much closed and called it a day at midnight , then got up again early this morning to call and get verification if i booked internal flights and airport hotel at EDI the customer would be reimbursed which I have now done just in-case availability disappeared

This always seems to happen on bank holidays.... This Glamorous job is a very stressful one and 24/7 and why people like me are invaluable to our customers

The last few months have been eventful !
Just to fill you in on the situation this was a lady on her own in Bali
I received notification late afternoon the day before the flight was due to leave that the flight had been cancelled and the airline had given her new flights with extra stops and a long wait in Saudi Arabia!. Bali is 7 hours ahead so the customer was asleep oblivious to what was going on

I found better flights contacted the airline changed them over and then had the problem of letting the customer know - I had texted but nothing . So 1am UK time I called her mobile spoke to her explained the flight change and sent her new details over ,checked her in .did her new seats etc without any stress to the customer

This is the service that I provide - people sometimes forget what value we bring to the table

You may have noticed she lives in Devon - this is the power of referrals I have customer all over the country !

There has been a bit of radio silence this year on social media
7 weeks ago I was playing in a tennis match and fell backwards and took the whole fall on my left wrist ..ouch
I went to hospital to get it checked out and it turned out to be a fracture so I have been wearing a support for the last 7 weeks
I haven't been able to drive..and basic tasks have been a little tricky ( who would have thought you use your left arm so much)

I have been working as normal but not doing social media

So on Monday I went back to the hospital and was given the all clear !
Apparently I have good bones🤣so will get vback to doing my social media posts and vids as before

When you hear that UK travel advice has been “lifted” for Dubai, it simply means the UK Foreign Office no longer advises against travelling there for holidays.

In practical terms, that usually means:

It is considered suitable again for leisure travel from the UK.

So the World Cup begins tonight - over 3 countries Mexico ,USA and Canada .
England & Scotland are playing are playing their group games in USA - This is quite a humid time in the USA and MEXICO as this time of year starts the 'hurricane season' which stays until November . Which is why you saw the torrential rain in Florida last night. This will effect Florida , Texas and also Mexico so hopefully everyone has got their brollies with them !

Lets hope everything goes well without any issues

You need an electronic visa for Canada like the USA (esta) - always check them to make sure they are valid before travel as you can not fly without authorisation - I read in the news the USA have been cancelling some of the ESTAS for travellers this is quite rare - always best to check 4 days before to give you time to redo them should this happen as the average time for authorisation is 10 minutes to 72 hours

I have people travelling to the USA on a regular basis and have never had any visa issues - just to give you confidence
