⚠️ Please plan ahead if you're travelling through the Commercial Road junction area.

⛔ Union street will be closed on Tuesday 20 0ctober and Wednesday 21 October from 7am until 5pm so that critical works can be completed safely.
🚧 There will also be Lane closures in place -
Blueschool Street - Lane 3
Commercial Road - Lane 3
Bath Street - Lane 1

We know traffic around the Commercial Road and Blueschool Street junction has been difficult lately, and we’re sorry for the disruption.
If you can avoid the area, please do. Use an alternative route where possible and allow extra time if you need to travel through the city.

The work will deliver new traffic lights and improved pedestrian crossings, helping to make this busy junction safer, more efficient and easier for everyone to use.

🚧 WILTON ROCK FACE WORKS - ROSS-ON-WYE 🚧

📍 Wilton Road, Ross-on-Wye
📅 19 October to 11 December 2026

We're carrying out essential works to provide a long-term solution to the risk of rockfall along Wilton Road. The project includes improvements such as new drainage, a rock trap, and a stone-faced retaining wall designed to blend in with the surrounding rock face.

⚠️ Please plan ahead

To allow the works to be carried out safely:

🚧 Wilton Road will be fully closed between both junctions with Wye Street.
🚧 Royal Parade will also be closed for the duration of the works.
🔀 Signed diversion routes will be in place.

Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. Pedestrian access will be maintained wherever possible.

We understand these closures will cause disruption and would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience while these important improvements are completed.

💧 Flood Action Week

🚧 Working with nature to reduce flood risk We're working with landowners across the county to deliver Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures that help reduce flood risk to local communities.

🌧️ NFM uses natural processes and land management techniques to slow the flow of water and store it in upland areas. This helps reduce the amount of water reaching rivers and streams further downstream during heavy rainfall, helping to protect communities from flooding.

📍 This attenuation area at Croft Castle, in the Cheaton Brooks catchment, is a great example of how natural flood management can help manage water and reduce flood risk.
