Unfortunately there has been no mention of Golden Valley Parkway in the current Local Transport Plan. We would encourage everyone to respond to this consultation asking why the Council is neglecting this potential train station for the Golden Valley.

Local activist Haydn Osborne-Brookes met with the Leader of Herefordshire Council to discuss Golden Valley Parkway. We were glad to hear that Jonathan Lester is keen to see the project develop and is hoping an application can be make to the Department for Transport once a Strategic Outline Business Case is developed.

I had a meeting with the Leader of Herefordshire Council, Jonathan Lester this Thursday to discuss the proposed Hereford Bypass, housing development, congestion, and the proposed Golden Valley Parkway (Pontrilas) train station. It was interesting to hear the Leader's perspectives and also to share mine with him. 💚

Are you on the Welsh side of the border and would you find a new Pontrilas Station easier than Abergavenny? It would help the campaign right now if you could contact your Welsh Assembly AM and UK MP. State your support for the station and ask what the Welsh Assembly government (transport) is doing about it. Write To Them is a very simple way to put in your postcode and write to your representatives

WriteToThem is a website which provides an easy way to contact MPs, councillors and other elected representatives.

This map shows how much the station is needed. It is some 22 miles from Abergavenny to Hereford, and further by road in miles and time. The need for this missing station is also supported by the strong passenger prediction statistics in the feasibility study.
