This was one of our Fabric covering training courses held back in May. A great group of people. Very good humoured & attentive & high standards were achieved all round. Come and visit us at the LAA Rally in Leicester for some free instruction at the Fabric Covering Workshop at the end of August. Learn why we swear by Poly-Fiber!

It seems that we've had more Work experience students than ever this year.
They've all been very attentive a pleasure to work with. Here are a few pics of their work, but we obviously need to be a bit protective of their identities. Oh & with great thanks to our customers & aircraft owners, every one of them have managed to get at least one flight!

This Jodel suffered a landing incident in which one of the undercarriage legs folded up in boggy ground. This one needed a new undercarriage leg. Repairs to a couple of ribs, a repair & repaint to one of the fuel tanks & the fabric repair you see in the pics. The interesting point on this one is that due to the dihedral( Upturn) on the wing, the two adjacent bays on the top surface have to be covered seperately as a one piece repair would bridge the void when shrunk. Quite a satisfying job. Special thanks to Michael and Jennie for their expertise on this one.

Here's Navy Wings' Stinson. This one had it's leaking fuel tanks repaired & the subsequent fabric repairs carried out. It came to us to apply the coatings- PolyBrush: 2 coats (Following a first brush coat), Poly-Spray: 3 coats, Poly-Tone Insignia white: 2 Coats & 3 coats of matched yellow Aero-Thane. (Total 11 coats) As a point to note, it's always good practice to apply a white base coat whenever finishing in red or yellow.

More Luscombe! Before & after polishing for the door handles!
Lots of paint stripping! Completed doors- ready for re-upholstering. Some painted Ailerons & Elevators & a before & after sandblasting pic of the control stick bases.

Here are a few of an ongoing Luscombe respray. A bit of nostalgia for me as it was a Luscombe restoration that got me (Chris) into this business in the early Nineties! More to follow on this one.
