Another interesting project we have just finished was the complete rebuild of the Yanmar SD50 sail drive fitted to a rather lovely French registered Hanse 411. Whilst in the Helford River, the owner lost power and contacted us to investigate. We found the sail drive full of sea water and a lot of emulsified oil in the bilge under the engine.
We had the boat recovered to our works at Gweek Classic Boatyard and carried out a complete re build including replacement of all bearings, seals and the two diaphragms. We also carried out a complete service on the Yanmar 4JH series engine.
He left the yard a very happy customer and made the trip straight back to Cherbourg in just under 24 hours.

We were recently approached by the owner of this fabulous Discovery 55, who was transiting to the Canaries in order to start the ARC Trans Atlantic Rally.
His Onan 7kv generator had broken down and could we look at it as soon as he arrived in Falmouth? We were on board within a few hours and found it required a major overhaul, however as he was on a very tight schedule he elected to have us fit a new generator.
We had a new Fischer Panda 8kv unit delivered to us within 48 hrs and we were able to do the swap and fit the new unit in very short order.
A very happy customer who is now in the Canaries ready to start the rally!

Another good job completed on this lovely Fairline Targa 38.

As well full service work to the twin Volvo Penta D4’s and stern drives, we removed and overhauled all the engine coolers including the intercoolers and oil coolers which these D series engines need from time to time.

We used our state of the art diagnostic system to check the engines and associated systems for any problems, which there weren’t and gave the owner detailed reports.

We also serviced the Fischer Panda generator which is crucial for the customer as the boat is on a swinging mooring during the summer season.

This mornings sea trial was a great success.
