Late-Night Driver Shares Warning After Suspicious Encounter on Townhill Way.

A local resident has urged residents to stay vigilant after encountering a man standing in the middle of the road during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The motorist said they were driving home alone from a late-night gym session at around 12.20am when they took a longer route home via Townhill Way, near The Two Brothers.

Upon approaching the area, they noticed a man standing in the road with his back to oncoming traffic.

According to the driver, the individual remained in the same spot for several minutes, "waddling from foot to foot" while facing away from vehicles. Feeling uneasy about the situation, the motorist decided not to continue and instead turned around at the roundabout before taking their usual route home.

The incident reportedly brought back memories of a previous experience involving the driver and their mother, when they stopped for a man standing in the road and were allegedly approached by two other men who attempted to open their car doors. Fortunately, the vehicle was locked and the suspects fled.

The driver said they reported the latest incident to police via 101 but wanted to make the public aware, urging others to remain cautious when travelling alone late at night.
Police have not confirmed whether the incident is linked to any criminal activity.
