🚂 Vintage Trains are back in steam this weekend!

LNWR No. 1054 ‘Coal Tank’ will be taking charge of our Vintage Trains, paired with the beautiful Lancashire & Yorkshire coaches for a proper old-fashioned railway outing.

We’ll have brass bands joining us too:
🎺 Saturday – Haworth Brass Band
🎺 Sunday – Lofthouse 2000 Brass Band

They’ll be playing at Oxenhope if the Great British weather plays ball… and under cover at Keighley if it doesn’t!

Throwing it back to Haworth Yard in 1992, where 75078 found itself well and truly off the rails!

In a remarkable sight, the railway's two 50-ton steam cranes teamed up to lift the locomotive clear of its wheelsets during work. No small feat, and certainly not something you see every day.

A glimpse into the engineering effort that keeps steam locomotives running for future generations.

Casting our eye back around 40 years, this view looks over Haworth Yard from the road bridge, not long after the new shed had been built.

🚨Diesel Gala Update 🚨

On Monday, the KWVR learnt that Europhoenix Rail had ceased trading, placing the planned movements of 37218 and 37407 for next week's Diesel Gala in doubt.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone at Europhoenix Rail for their friendship, support, and hard work in bringing the event together. We know this news will be difficult for many, and our thoughts are with all those affected.

Working closely with our industry colleagues, we are pleased to confirm that 37218 will still attend the Gala with thanks to Hanson & Hall. However, the additional costs arising from changes to the planned movements mean that the visit of 37407 can no longer take place.

As a result, some locomotive allocations are likely to change. Updated timetables will be published once the Gala Team has worked through the revisions.

78022 has arrived back home at Haworth and is making the most of the Yorkshire sunshine after a little trip down south.

You won’t have to wait long to see her in action either, she’ll be back in steam tomorrow and Thursday for Mid-Week Steam services along the Worth Valley.
