Provides health and social care community transport to residents of upper Wensleydale

It was a huge honour for The Little White Car to be nominated and then shorlisted for a Community Transport Association award at their 40 year celebration event yesterday evening.

We weren't winners on the night, but making the top four and having the opportunity to meet our fellow CT nominees was a huge privilege. Well done to Daybreak Oxford, Badenoch and Strathspey Community Connections and to the winners, Holsworthy Rural Community Transport 👏🏆

What a beautiful place in the country we are blessed to live.
On reflection I would like to thank our fabulous volunteer drivers as we have had a super busy week including managing to do several journeys in one day. (Which is roughly 70 mile round trips!)
The Little White Car would not be what it is without you. So Thank you 🤩

Always spaces available to become a volunteer driver for The Little White Car driving through this wonderful countryside to ensure all are getting to their medical appointments

Some wonderful courses that will be running in the Community Cabin from June.
If you live from Bainbridge to mid Wensleydale (Aysgarth/Carperby) and would like to attend these courses but do not have transport please get in touch to discuss possible transport.
Or if you have a relative or friend who may like to brush up on their phone skills this is for them.
It is a free course for all North Yorkshire residents.

What a wonderful full week we have had so far with The Little White Car taking people to their medical appointments at:

🏥Bishop Auckland Hospital
🏥James Cook, Middlesbrough
🏥Leyburn Medical Practice

This is just the last 3 days! If you have an appointment or a family member or friend and are unable to get public transport then please get in touch, The Little White Car is here to help.

Would you like to drive The Little White Car to medical and social care appointments for individuals in the upper to middle dale?

We have spaces available to become part of our wonderful team.

Please drop me an email, message or phone call to discuss further. It can be as little or as often as you’re able to commit.

We now have in both of our Little White Cars a door handle assist.
If you feel you need this to support with exiting the car please let the driver know who will be happy to assist.

A door handle assist will help with leverage and balance upon exiting the vehicle.

We also have a step with handle rail to assist you entering and exiting the electric vehicle, with it being slightly higher we have had feedback on difficulty in getting in. If you ask the driver at the time they will be more than happy to help you.
