A Bubble On Test!:

Following some restoration our resident Class 121 Bubble Car DMU W55020 operated on Trundley Close metals today for the very first time on a test working. With new battery boxes, vac hoses and air pipes fitted it gives us great pleasure to say that the unit is now serviceable and will be able to be used on public trains during the summer period of 2026.

The unit will be expected to be seen hauling it's first public trains during July and shall be taking part in our Gala event which shall take place around mid-August.

Todays Test Trains and Rolling Stock arrival! Class 47 47634 and Class 05 D2555:

Two new arrivals arrived today at the Trundley Close Railway centre in the form of two Mark 1 coaches in maroon livery, first up is a SK in tip top shape whilst the other the BSK is in need of repairs and some attention. Today's test trains operated by our Class 47 and Class 05 have not only been to test the conditions of the trackwork on our O Gauge Garden Railway but also to test to see if the new mark 1s are able to operate public trains on the railway, First things first the BSK is a no go not until repairs have been undertaken. However the SK is definitely expected for public running during our 2026 summer season. So all in all a success! , the BSK has now been shunting into the siding for further maintenance and inspection.

O Gauge Overgrowth!:

As most of you will be aware by now as of September 2024 we had a cut down on our services and we only operate seasonal now, Mostly during the summer and winter months. Permanent Way and Test Trains now usually occur during April. To start with foliage needs to be cut back including this dreaded bush that tends to just grow and grow. Our pway gang shall be on it today removing all the Overgrowth so that in late afternoon we can operate our Class 47 which is to be pressed into action on this afternoon's test train alongside class 05 D2555.
